But but but, Portugal will wipe the floor with me if I dow them!

Portugal come on man that litlle country.

What about Africa campange any chances seeing Japan army there? The pacific is basicly yours.

What about SU? You could fight them because comunism in SU at that time was more a dictaroreship then comunism.

currently SU and USA are wiping the floor with Germany so, if I start harrassing SU I will end up fighting war on four fronts (Africa, Europe(USA is going to take all the axis puppets and attack to Turkey which is under my heel), Pacific islands (currently I'm wiping the floor with the American fleet which is down to 0 carriers, 3 BB and various other puny ships making me the only nation IN THE WORLD WITH CARRIERS :p ) and Manchukuo.)

The SU and america would have four times as many units as I have now combined! there's no way I'm gouing to Dow SU when I'm at war with Allies+ 1/3 of the world.
And the Portugal thing was sarcasm ;) . but I rather don't want to stress my TC too much and that province doesn't have any resourses AFAIK.

Forcing Australia on her knees

It took the whole December to gather the needed forces for the invasion of Australia. In the end, the Japanese High Command had managed to free up twenty-six divisions for the operation. This included the forces used in the New Zealand operation plus twelve infantry divisions that had seen action for the last time in 1942. The plan was simple. They would make a fake assault to somewhere far away from their real objectives and then after the Australian army would draw reinforcements from elsewhere the forces would load back into their boats and conclude the main assault.

On 10th of January the fake assault took place, immediately five Australian divisions were ordered on the move, the Japanese didn’t even bother to land and headed towards their objectives. A day later the Australians found out that the landing was a trick and that was too late. The Japanese navy sailed to the coast of Adelaide with radio silence. After noticing that the city was devoid of any military units the eleven divisions including the 19th Motorised Rifle Corps landed and dug in. The navy returned to Wellington to pick up the forces for the operation’s second phase.

On 21st of January the 19th Motorised Rifle Corps was ordered to double time it to Melbourne. They left and arrived there on the 26th, meeting no resistance. The puny counter-attack from Canberra was pushed back with heavy casualties for the Australians. It was the first battle fought on the Australian soil. On the 29th of January the Japanese fleet transported nine divisions to Bribane. The troops that had been positioned to Brisbane had been drawn to the forces trying to recapture Adelaide with a bad success. There was no resistance against them there and two Rifle Corps’ attacked Coff’s Harbour, defeating the two divisions stationed there. The three divisions that hadn’t been ordered to do that started their march towards the North to their objective.

Coff’s Harbour was captured on the 7th of February and the troops there continued immediately towards the city of Newcastle. The lone Australian garrison there held for a day, but was forced to retreat in the end, most of the soldiers surrendered after their attempt to hold Newcastle itself was thwarted by the quickly advancing Japanese infantry. This happened on the 18th of February.
On the 8th of February the Japanese fleet unloaded the 24th Rifle Corps to Nhulunbuy, from there they continued towards Darwin, meeting minimal resistance. Darwin was captured on the 21st of February.

On the 18th of February the 19th Motorised Rifle Corps attacked Canberra and breached the Australian lines using the new Type 4 Chi-Re tanks. The city and its surrounding were secured on the 20th of February. Then they proceeded northwards and secured Hay on the 21st of February. On the 22nd of February the troops in Newcastle attacked Sydney with 19th Motorised Rifle Corps attacking Sydney’s rear from Hay. The Australian defences were broken immediately and Sydney was occupied on the 29th.

To seal off Australia’s defeat, the 1st Genkotsu Aka Corps took the unoccupied Perth on the 8th of March. Now all of Japan’s objectives had been accomplished in two months. The Japanese casualties were minimal and the Australians lost 20 000 men.

No plan survives combat intact…

On 11th of March Japan formally annexed to country, but on the same day a temporary government was “elected” and real elections were ordered to take place in April. Again, all the candidates for the parliament were nominated by the Japanese government. So, Leninism took over another country in the Pacific.

In March, happy news for USA and Soviet Union: After struggling against the Soviet Union for three and a half years and against the American landing for a year, the Germans surrendered. Hitler committed suicide in Poland and the government after him surrendered to Soviet Union unconditionally. Because USA already controlled the whole Germany the Russians couldn’t affect to Germany’s fate in any way so they decided only to liberate Poland. USA liberated Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Czechoslovakia (Slovakia is an independent country!!! WTF?). The portions of Turkey taken over by Germany declared independence but because of their lack of an army the Japanese occupied them and annexed Turkey.

Peace reigns in Europe at last, but the Balkans are still waging a lost war for a lost cause.

Why does the USSR control part of France, and why does the USA control Northern Ireland?

Dont know why, but Germany had taken the British North Ireland and then the Americans took them back (shouldn't they go directly back to the Brits?).

The most confusing thing here is the simultaneous existence of Vichy France and France. Also that USA controls parts of Poland and it has been 5 months since the peace and SU hasn't still attacked Romania or Hungray (both are at war w/ SU).

This is a confusing game :) ...

Yeah, I was kinda amazed myself when I noticed that evil greyness there. What I was more amazed off is that the Brits never counter-attacked them there.

Great AAR!

I can't believe that Germany got trounced so early with all the help from Japan, keeping Commonwealth air, ground, and naval forces tied up for so long (and eventually destroying many of them). They must have fared very poorly against the Soviets!

Is it time for Japan to expand into the Med?

They lost because of the 100+ Russian divisions they forgot into the Moscow pocket, which was the size of Yugoslavia in the beginning of the game. And because of the 100+ American divisions (including at least 50 mech inf  ) landing to Normandy. And I dont have too much plans of expanding to mediterraean., but I might try to make my sphere of influence reach there by DoW:ing the "axis" and annexing+puppeting them. But that happens only if the Russians decide to begin their attack to Romania (no I don't want SU to get Balkans) or I manage to get a grip of the WHOLE Pacific ocean.

Uhh, there's a little problem with that... I lead the alliance of Me, manchuria+all my puppets, and AARwise my Japan doesn't like SU too much.

SU is Stalinist and Japan Leninnist. That a diferent

Stalinistsic is more honest regime. They don't argue that they are evel dictatoreship and nothing more  in stead of justice paradice of everybody equal like Leninist regime:D:D:D

If you break the alliance with your puppets, you can join, and your puppets will also join.

But wait, you're at war, so it's a moot point.

If you read the prologues of this AAR you'd know why JApan does not like SU.

European interests

In the beginning of the year 1945, when Germany had surrendered the Japanese government had realised that if they do not get a foothold in Europe now, before the Soviets come crashing down on the Balkans, they would never get that foothold. So, the Japanese Western Command was tasked to plan the invasion of Bulgaria and Romania and taking Greece and Albania from the Italians. The plan formed quickly. The last remnants of the former military powerhouse that had controlled the whole Europe, the Axis, were now a sitting duck for the greater powers to harass after the downfall of the force that kept them together, Germany. Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary were now arguing about the deployment of their troops. In the end, everybody decided to play into their own bags and not give any support to the others. Romania and Hungary were facing imminent invasion from the Soviet Union and moth of them were hoping that the Japanese would invade, just to save their soldiers from the work-camps in Siberia. The relations between the Axis and Japan had crumbled after Germany’s surrender, because now Japan was many times more powerful than the Axis. In March the Japanese started “violent intelligence operations” over the Bosporus to the Axis lines, kidnapping soldiers for intelligence and blowing up bunkers. On 13th of March, Italy accused Japan of this and the Japanese ambassador responded to the Italian foreign by handing him a declaration of war and then taking a grenade from his pocket and detonating it. Three Italian diplomats died together with the Japanese ambassador, the Italian foreign minister was wounded badly. Mussolini was witnessed to scream in rage and drool on his finest carpet after hearing that the Japanese had broken through Istanbul on the same day. The main reason for his drooling was that the Japanese had two armoured divisions now on European soil and the Italians had none.
A day afterwards Mussolini accused the Bulgarians of betrayal and asked for the Romanians to send divisions to Bulgaria. His request wasn’t even answered. The Japanese were across in Istanbul on the 16th of March and two days later they were ready to advance. The Japanese bombers were tasked again on the one thing they knew best, destroying retreating units.

The Japanese consolidate their positions in Bulgaria.

The 15th Armoured Corps was ordered to capture the oilfields in Ploesti, before the Russians would do it. Both mountain rifle corps’ were ordered to capture Bulgaria. By 8th of April, Sofia had fallen into Japanese hands and the 15th Armoured Corps was advancing into Bucharest, from there it would be a short ride to Ploesti.

Romania’s capital is under attack.

Eight days later, Ploesti was in Japanese hands, so was Skopje, the last proper bastion of defence for the Bulgarians. After its capture the Bulgarians surrendered unconditionally, shortly after they were followed by the Romanians. After that the Japanese decided to make a run for the Hungarian capital and their surrender, but Russian armour beat them to it and the Japanese had to be content with the northern parts of Yugoslavia, formerly occupied by the Hungarians. The Japanese and Italian troops were locked in a stalemate in southern Yugoslavia and southern Greece, the Japanese Western commander Field Marshal Hata called the offensive action to halt. Bulgaria, Turkey and Albania were given freedom, and because the Bulgarians had accepted to give Istanbul to the Turks they were given all parts of Romania and Hungary that were under the control of Japan, with the exception of Bucharest and Ploesti staying under Japanese control of “cultural reasons”, but everybody knew that Japan only wanted to control the only proper oil pocket in Europe. By the 18th of June the Axis were now down to Croatia and Italy and Mussolini had realised that on the second that the Japanese were going to put effort in taking him down, the Italy he held in his grasp would be history.
