as much as i'd like to see you take on the world with dozens of panzer divisions and nothing else, i think factories are the way to go for the first couple of years. whats your ic?

edit: i just found it... 92s a bit low, factories will be needed i should imagine.

BritishImperial: ...whats your ic? .. edit: i just found it... 92s a bit low, factories will be needed i should imagine.

agreed ! ! factories is the best build ! ! :)

trekaddict:
Panzers, Panzers and even more Panzers.

panzers are indeed very useful ! ! however, they need an ample supply of oil, something Germany probably will not have if you build panzers early and often ! !

also, IIRC, building more IC also increases your conversion of coal to oil... ;)

Secret Meeting Bunker
March 1st, 1933
0700 hours

Normally, this bunker would only be used for military war meetings. It was solid concrete, under some of the most secure defenses in the Wiemar Republic. Today, however, it merely served to be an uncomfortable hole in the ground to be used for a government meeting.

"I call this meeting into order. I apologize for von Hindenburg, who again cannot attend. I believe he came down with some sort of illness, and wished not to come to the meeting," stated Hitler.

"You sure it wasn't because this hole is full of discomfort? These seats are paining my back," moaned Goering.

"No, my dear Goering. And I'm sorry we can't get better chairs. Anyway, I would like to turn this meeting over to von Blomberg."

"Currently, the Economics and Foreign ministries have agreed to new trade agreements with Switzerland, Hungary, Sweden, Brazil, and Romania. We are now receiving more oil, metal, and supplies in exchange for coal exports. However, there is still a critical shortfall in metal, rare materials, and supplies. Supplies are at such crucial levels, that even rationing will only last us until about January of next year. Our metal and rare material stockpiles are large, but they are draining at a fast rate. Our material reserves will deplete in about seven years, and out metal reserves in a mere three! We need a large boost to both our factory and resource production, or increase foreign trade. What I am happy to report is that our energy and oil stockpiles are large and growing at a fast pace." stated von Blomberg.

"Also, Krupp has recently developed a better diesel engine. This engine will be a boost to vehicle designs and development. Hjalmar Schaht is halfway done with his economic theories. I.G Farben has completed War Industry armament factories, but still needs to finish material studies and special machinery. Siemens Advanced Valves development is very slow, at about 16% estimated completion. We will need those factories being built, because we do not have enough to sustain production of convoys and supplies at the same time. This is the end of my report."

"My Ministry of Internal Security is facing hard times. We do not have enough funding! We only just managed to fit another counter-espionage spy ring! exclaimed Frick. "Czech and British spies were caught trying to enter our country, but we had managed to stop them for meeting with their other agents. We still have over 50 spy rings in our country. We also have reports on the Reichstag Fire. The Reichstag Fire Inquiry Committee states that the fire was nothing more than an accident. Apparently, someone threw a cigarette over the Reichstag's front gate, but set fire to a puddle of gasoline left by a leaky vehicle. And you know the rest. Rest assured that smoking is now prohibited around government buildings and embassies, failure to comply will result in a prison sentence. We also have a manpower reserve of 327,000 men. That is the end of my report."

"The Foreign Affairs Ministry is suffering from underfunding. We have no funds for diplomatic missions!" yelled the usually calm von Neurath. "We currently have reports of Unemployment Riots in the United Kingdom, although it is nothing serious. We also have reports that Guiseppe Zangara tried to assassinate United States President Franklin Roosevelt, but failed and fatally shot Chicago mayor Anton Cermark. There is also growing controversy over an incident with the Chinese and Japanese. We currently have no details, although the League of Nations was quick to condemn it. That is my foreign affairs report."

Military Affairs to be continued...

an assassination attempt? is that in mod34? i dont remember it. sounds good, i like options for alternate history.

bloody goering, always moaning... :D

Chapter 2: Military Affairs Continued

"Our War Ministry is currently funded quite adequately, I'm happy to report," stated Beck. "However, I am sad to say that our military is still weak compared to the rest of Europe, let alone the world. We desperately need more armed forces if we are to ever even adequately defend our dear Deutschland. Each branch's head will inform us of the situation. I have brought along several distinguished officers to help inform us on the problems of their units. Let's start with the Wehrmacht."

"Our army hasn't changed much since the last briefing, but I have reports on each division here with me today," said von Fritsch. "Our ten infantry divisions are currently have our most modern equipment. We still require more tanks and artillery however. Our 1st Armee, or our only Headquarters Unit, is stationed right here in Berlin. I have brought the commanding officer here."

"My name is General von Hammerstein-Equord K. I am currently the only active commanding general in the army. My unit commands and coordinates the entire East German border, from East Prussia, down to Breslau. Currently, our border is lightly defended, and Breslau, Oppeln, and Elbing not at all. I am particularly concerned about Oppeln, where much of East German industry is located, and Elbing, which is where we send supplies to East Prussia. In addition to the First Armee in Berlin, our only active Lieutenant General Hansen K. commands the Second Armeekorps with two divisions* in Stettin. The First Armeekorps is commanded by Major General Busch in Konigsberg. The Eighth Armeekorps is commanded by Mj. General von Kiesling auf Kieslingstein in Kustrin. Those are all the units in my area of command."

"The rest of the units report directly to the Wehrmacht Command, headed by me. Our Denmark border is completely undefended, and the other borders have only one division in the provinces that are occupied. The 4th Armeekorps in Dresden is commanded by Mj. General Hansen C. The 6th Armeekorps in Munster is commanded by Mj. General von Prittwitz und Gaffron. The 12th Armeekorps in Dortmund is commanded by Mj. General von dem Bach-Zelewski. The 9th Armeekorps in Frankfurt is commanded by Mj. General Bader. The 5th Armeekorps in Stuttgart is commanded by Mj. General Kasper. Finally, the 7th Armeekorps in Munich is commanded by Mj. General Franke. And that is the end of my report. "

"Kriegsmarine Grand Admiral Raeder reporting. Our navy has recently gotten several paint jobs, but that is it. The Navy is still severely short on combat ships, particularly cruisers and battleships. Also, our ships are hopelessly outdated and outclassed by the British and French navies. I have brought along Vice Admiral Saalwachter, commander of the Baltic Fleet, to give a briefing on our situation in the Baltic. I will follow him with the Atlantic report."

"Well, I am Saalwachter. The Baltic Fleet is stationed at Konigsberg and consists of the KMS Schleswig-Holstein, a battlecruiser, and two destroyer flotillas. The 1st Truppentransporter Fleet is docked at Rostock and consists of two transport flotillas and is headed by Rear Admiral Isendahl. Now, I will report on other countries' respective navies. The Lithuanians have a single transport flotilla for their navy. The Latvians have a single destroyer flotilla. The Swedish have almost as good a fleet as us, it have more heavy cruisers and almost as many smaller ships, as well as a battlecruiser. The Finnish navy consists of two heavy cruisers and a submarine wolfpack. The Soviet Leningrad fleet have an uncountable amount of submarines, a destroyer fleet, and two battleships. All of these fleets are more or less as outdated as ours, at least compared to the Allied fleets. That is my naval report."

"I currently command the Kreigsmarine fleet, which is docked at Wilhelmshafen, and currently consists of a heavy cruiser, the KMG Deutschland; two light cruisers, the KMS Koln and Emden; and a destroyer flotilla. The 1st Unterseeboots fleet, or submarines, are also docked at Wilhelmshafen and are commanded by Rear Admiral Wolf. It is our only submarine wolfpack. The British and French have untold legions of ships. The Norwegians have two heavy cruisers and submarine wolfpacks. The Danish have the same. The Dutch have a bunch of transports, destroyers, and submarines. The Belgians have a measly transport flotilla. That is the end of my naval report."

"Luftwaffe Air General Hermann Goering reporting. I still have only the Lufthansa civilian aircraft, no combat planes. It is kind of sad to see empty military hangers and runways. The Allies have air forces, so do the Soviets. I'm getting a bad back from being the lone pilot of the Lufthansa transport aircraft, bringing supplies to little children in Austria... That is the end of my report. Please make more planes, especially a special Cabinet aircraft with lush leather seats and a fur carpet for the Wiemar Republic. I want some comfort..."

*Note: From now on, unless specifically mentioned, all Armeekorps have only one division.

carmen510: ...Note: From now on, unless specifically mentioned, all Armeekorps have only one division.

it will take a while to improve, but your military can be summed up in one word: inadequate ! !

excellent updates ! !

better get building, and soon. though if you plan to fight historically it doesnt really matter at the moment.

GhostWriter: Inadequate indeed. However, I expect a serial line of infantry after the convoys are finished, and possibly the factories.

BritishImperial: My plan is to start the war at 1939 at earliest, but it may extend to early 1941 at latest if I still do not have the required troops/aircraft.

There is also a navy extending event, which sucks up a lot of IC, but it is a really good one since I believe it doesn't use manpower, which I need to expand the army.

carmen510: ...However, I expect a serial line of infantry after the convoys are finished, and possibly the factories.

agreed. i always postpone the production of infantry as long as i can.

factories are too important to postpone ! !

I can heartily recommend, Wurfrahmen 40, as the brigade of choice for panzer divs :) . Whereas blue emu went as far as teching the most modern model, even the stuka-zu- fuss is formidable, when compared to normal StuGs. the medium armour brigade might be a better long term investment but theyre kinda expensive

Chief Savage Ma: I tried this once. I got to Moscow before the oil ran out and the army collapsed.

running out of oil against the Soviet Union is a real bummer ! !

oh, how close to Lodi, NJ ? ;)

carmen510: I have recently been unable to update this AAR

please remember that school comes before play, and AARs are play ! !

also, we will enjoy that update when it arrives ! ! :)
