Superb game. I had great fun arguing with Jacksonian in the middle of the thread.

I was trying to pretend to be Merlin by being very assertive, but it didn't work because I was wrong about all the spies.
I too enjoy arguing with my fellow resistance members :p

But Haresus approved that same team.

EDIT: And Merlin could very well do so to throw the spies off his trail.
I think I once picked as many spies as I could, as Merlin, in mission 1. Early proposals don't get accepted that often anyway.
True. I really had to think hard about that last mission - spent a lot of time over it, especially since mission 2 had the opposite situation. But the potential teams made more sense with Audren as Morgana, and there were a few small tells from aedan (you went after haresus early, and the case against him seemed to me to be smoke and mirrors). I'm also good at reading my family, and Ironhide is annoyingly predictable, as he proved to be in this case.

Sorry to Ironhide if I was a bit abusive with my language at times, my nerves were a bit on edge, and I really hope you don't play like this in future Resistance games.
trust me, people have said far worse

Haresus, you are a boss. That is probably the best first showing I've ever seen.

And thanks a lot for all the compliments from people. Lurking a few games does help, being Merlin doesn't hurt either.

I do wonder if it would have been better or worse for the spies to just rely on Jerman's team instead of voting for Aedan's team. Would love to know what the motivations were there for Audren and Jerman. There would still have been a sabotage, and they could have kept the information gained from voting to a minimum. I really did not expect all the spies to vote for the first mission like that, and it surprised me a lot when Jerman's team was sabotaged anyway.

jerman was Mordred. Out the spy/spies merlin already knows first.

There was one team, Aedan, Audren and I were on it.

I was Mordred, and a feature of the role is that my name is not given to you.

I also knew that Aedan and Audren were spies from the start. I'm not sure if they were told only one or both of us. ( I could imagine that maybe Aedan knew Audren and Audren knew me. )

All spies knew each other in this game. I hate chain spy rules, and they aren't intended for Avalon anyway. I may not have made it clear to all the spies that they knew each other, since I thought it was assumed.

Oh, and as a tactical matter, if I were Jerman in his situation on M1 I would reject the fourth proposal and add a spymate, relying on the proposer sabotages rule to make it work and remain beneath Merlin's suspicion. Approving the mission with aedan on it basically makes you suspicious for no real gain.

But that's the kind of idea that will probably go into my still-unwritten Resistance guide.

No, we all knew we were spies, but we did not know each others' specific roles. As for why I approved the fourth mission instead of waiting for Jerman (as I realize now would've been the better move) was because I figured Aedan would be able to explain away being on a sabotaged team better than Jerman. I see I didn't put enough faith in Jerman, nor did I realize how bad it'd make me look.

Good game, Resistance, especially Wombat. Much better deductive work than when I was Percival. I knew I was toast as soon as you claimed Percival. Should've been more critical of Aedan and Jerman at that point; maybe then they could've pulled it off.

You played very well on day 2, but I was locked onto you from day 1. I wasn't actually 100% sure you were Morgana (mission proposal 2 shook my faith in Haresus a bit), but needed to take a slight chance. Your post after my "outing" basically confirmed that you were Morgana - a real Merlin would have gone absolutely ballistic. I knew I was right about the team when tamius asked for clarification before voting Ironhide.

What was the bit about unwittingly tripping you up with your Mission 2 vote? I was confused by that then, but I obviously wasn't going to say anything.

I assume that was a lie on his part to cover the fact he had approved the team because Haresus had proposed it.

I was locked in on day 2 that you were a spy (and Haresus wasn't). So I waited until everyone else voted AND made my vote in PM conditional: whichever way Audren votes, vote the opposite. (I meant to vote in thread, but made my conditional vote first and then went to soccer - during which time you voted.) But you voted against the mission, which triggered the conditional vote as a positive and ended up bringing down suspicion on me. I then had to out myself as Percival immediately - else it would have been an insta-loss.

Also, I hate to have to do this, but the situation calls for it: I am boycotting any future online Resistance games in which @Ironhide G1 plays, until he puts more effort into his voting/gameplay than "I told you so" and "Leeroy Jenkins." His online playstyle effectively sabotages whatever side he is on, and he is too damned smart (I've played him IRL, he is actually solid) to be pulling this nonsense every game.

Ah, okay. I thought there was something more to that then just me rejecting. I understand now. Nice work

But he did make me think he was Merlin...

But I doubt that was his plan.
