Hi everyone :)
I'm going to be playing Venice. Looking forward to ridding the Mediterranean from the lot of you (or possibly trying to hang on to an island or two atleast ;))...

I have msn as well but as that's also my mail I'd rather not post it here...

Hello Trin. I understand that Mulliman vouches for you.

Let this be your first word of wisdom from the Book of Slargos:

"And yay, there was truely no scenarioe setupe that wath seteh in stoon", Book of Games, 3:14.

You are currently looking at playing either Portugal or Morocco.

Well, perhaps I could start a new campaign agani, although I would prefer this started later, like early Sept. Regardless, I don't wan't an important country, just some German / Italian minor or Denmark, Poland or Venice, in that order.

Right.

Another round of discussions about the roster-setup is done.

I now recall why I stopped GMing in the first place, btw. :D

Here's my latest suggestion. I've weighed player preferences as much as is possible while still attempting to create a balanced game.

Hopefully, I will not have to elucidate on my play-balance reasoning. Most players are largely known quantities by now.

Neutrals from the Neutral Planet
-------------------------------
England - Arcorelli
Sweden - Slargos
Russia - FAL
Venice - Tonio
Morocco - Newbie
Portugal - Newbie

Axis
-------------------------------
Austria - HoG
Spain - Fredrik

Allies
-------------------------------
Ottoman Empire - Mulliman
France - Robertus

This is reaching optimum setup given everyone's preferences.

I fear, however, that the Axis may be a bit powerful skill-wise. This should hopefully be redressed by Sweden/Venice and possibly England/Portugal.

Thoughts? Critizism?

At the moment, Portugal and Morocco are open with 2 new guys straining at the leash to join in. :D

I'm not 100% sure I want Poland in the setup. I've been itching to see a Russia that actually reaches Europe for ages... but perhaps if you don't mind the risk of annexation, you'll play Brandenburg.

I will be on vacation, week 28 - 29. 11th july till 24th july.

Also, if we for some reason have to postpone next session of BF aswell i will probably suggest a summer break or canceling the game, depends on the players in it. But we got serius problems atm which i frankly dont have time to deal with
We'll see.

But you're ok with playing Spain?

Are you home and available to play on the 24th? In that case, we could start the game at that date.

Scenario update: Leaders.

We will be using Military Tradition.

For those of you unfamiliar with it, it works like this:

Each war a country fights gives +0.5 MT points. First war of the session gives +1.

Every victory gives 0.5 points.

For the purpose of this equation, "War" equals fighting one country. A country fighting 2 other countries is thus involved in two "wars"

MT determines the cap on stats for random leaders.

The "base" MT value is 7 to which earned points is added. This means that a country that has 3 MT points can for instance get a random 3 3 4 (=10 points) leader.

Degradation of MT points will start at the 3rd session and 1/3 of the points will be removed every session including 3rd and thereafter.

--------------------

Further more, in order to make naval conflicts more interesting, historical naval leaders will be cropped. 6's will turn into 5's, 5's will turn into 4's. England will be reimbursed by adding a few extra admirals since it is the big loser in this.

-------------------

Historical explorers will be removed and random explorers will be generated for everyone with as yet to be determined probability. Historical conquistadors will remain to give the historical colonizers an edge. Morocco will get a slight increase in random conquistadors since it's designed primarily as a colonizer in this scenario.

-------------------

I'd like to remind everyone that my intention with this game is to create an interesting and fun experience rather than to run a standard vanilla game. Thus the changes in leaders and scenario setup.

Cheech,

Aye, thanks. Worked like a charm.

Im going to start charging next time. 100 ducats per hour :)

If my PC wasnt such a disgrace id like to play new EU games but its not fair on others. Possible i may be getting new parts next week though so well see.

Cheech,

I'll happily pay it. :D

You've got a solid month. Hope you have it fixed by then.

Hmmmm, boy is this tempting. The chance to play a fringe country and get tutored on how to win a war from some of the best at it. Not to mention getting to listen to the almost certain bickering that will ensue. :p

Trouble is, I'd miss a Sunday in August for certain (vacation trip to see dad in California). I'd hate to be thought of as "unreliable."

But, if this isn't a problem, I'd be happy to take a "newbie" country. :)

DSY,

I for one would love to have you, the Sunday in August aside.

Actually, we're pretty full atm, DSQ.

And your snide remarks aren't helping either.

I don't understand why people think insults is a good way of getting things out of other people. It makes no sense!

I think the Axis are a bit more powerful than the allies. Especially without Poland and Brandenburg. I think Austria needs a non-warmonger.

On the other hand, Russia could of course make it her job to harass Austria.

I am pretty flexible with the countries you give to me, as long as it is Russia :D

Seriously, put me in any country you want, but not Spain. I hate Spain.

Then Russia for you, it is.

Freddy can be Spain.

The idea is that while yes, the Axis has greater measure of imagined skill, anything can happen. If the Axis should indeed gain the upper hand, the current setup gives the neuties plenty of opportunity to intervene.

The reason no Poland was added was that I specifically wanted Russia to play a more active part in Europe. I hope that Mulliman will also go for Europe even if there is nothing specifically compelling him to do so.

Speaking of which, Austria and OE will both get Slavonic culture in order to make it more interesting.
