April 20th 1940

"Mr. President." Said on of President Putumajo's aids
"Yes,"
"Ummm, well, umm." the aid stamered
"ok, just out with it boy, you can do it!"
"Well I have some very disturbing news for you, it seems that both Bolivia and Paraguay have fallen to dictatorships..."
"WHAT?!?!?"
"Yes, Mr. President it seems that they are already cementing talks of alliance with the Brazilian and Argentinean governments."
"......"
The president sat silently
"Thats it."
"excuse me sir?"
"thats it, there's no hope for peace, with the war in Europe and now this.... get my plane ready."
"Sir..."
"Tell the Colombian embassy in the United States to tell President Roosevelt that I'll be there soon and too make space in his schedule..... tell him war is coming home."

April 22nd 1940
"Why Alf what a present surprise" said President Roosevelt
"When one of my aids told me the news of Bolivia and Paraguay I knew you were coming"
"Well yes, it's rather unfortunate every time we meet it's because of a crisis" Alfonso said in broken English
"You know if it's easier on you I could speak in Spanish" he said with a wink
"No Frank, if we did that we'd be stuck here all of today and most of tomorrow and we're both very busy men" Alfonso said with a sad smile
"Well let's get to the point Alf, what can I do for you?"
"I need a guarantee of protection. I have certain information that the South American Axis is going to want to join the war alongside Germany and if that happens, well you know what will occur."
"Indeed, but as you know if it was up to me I would have had the United States in the war against Germany since the beginning, but that would require Congress's approval, and you and I know that isn't going to happen even if you get invaded. Also you should know that the American public feels the utmost respect for your country but not enough to go to war."
"Yes I understand that but I can't take them alone and the Allies are in a position of receiving help, not giving it away."
"Yes, well I have an idea." said Roosevelt
"What is it?"
"the Monroe Doctrine, it would be a great idea to use that in order to invoke an alliance, hell, after that we could even go to the Allies as by then no one will care. Sure the American people won't want the war but I know that if we can pull enough victories they would switch to be in favor of war."
"That has to be the most insane idea that I have ever heard" said Alf
"Well, Alf, I thought you of all people would know the difference between brilliance and insanity!" Said Roosevelt sarcastically
And on that April day the future of South America had been decided whether for good or for ill only time would tell.

Chapter 2 Bloodied and Bruised

300px-Casa_presidencial_de_Bogot.jpg

Casa de Narino, Bogota, November 1st 1941

President Putumajo was sitting behind his desk reading some legislation when the silence was shattered by an explosion.
"What the Hell!?!?" he said
"Go!, Go!, Go!" came a voice from the hallway
his secretary screamed only to be brought down by a hail of bullets
Alfonso reached down and took his pistol from out of his drawer and got ready ever since Bolivia and Paraguay had switched to Autocracies, Far- Right sentiment had increased in Colombia. University protests had begun to start up ever since his secret trip to Washington had been intercepted by an unknown third party, but rumors persisted Brazilian involvement. And war was definatly on the table after a freighter was discovered to be full of weapons to insurgent forces from the Axis.
More shots probably from his guard against the attackers. Suddenly a tank roved into the presidential plaza
"How well armed are they?" Alfonso cursed
screaming was coming from all directions, the footsteps outside grew louder
"Well best die on your feet i suppose." said the president as he rose from his chair and readied himself. At first he hadn't realized how much was at stake, it was only until after the war he knew that if the coup had succeed history would have taken a much different course.
Suddenly the door blasted open Alfonso lifted his gun, ready to fire when he looked at the picture of his wife and children, if he was going he wanted to make sure this was what he wanted to see.
CLICK, CLICK
"What the ... damnit I forgot to load the gun!"
the soldiers laughed at him they stood aside waiting for someone, when suddenly entered General Esteban Martinez one of his most popular generals and leader of the Por La Patria, for the homeland, reactionary movement.
"Well, well Mr. President, never could last a second with a gun now could you" Said the General
"Ah, Martinez I should have smelt the stench of filth as you walked in."
General Martinez strode over and slammed Alfonso with the butt of a rifle
"Sarcastic until the end aren't we? Well luckily the end is near for you Mr. President."

Sorry for the small update will finish this tomorrow as I am very hard- pressed for time

Bogota Casa de Narino President's Office

"Well your really rude to your hosts aren't you General?" Said Alfonso gripping his forehead
"Do you ever stop being so arrogant you moron?" Said the General
"Arrogance, your speaking to me about arrogance? You just barged in here killed my secratary and guards, and you have the audacity to call me arrogant. And besides I like to call it optimisim."
"What does an old hag like you have to be optimistic about?" Said the General before grabbing him and taking him to the balcony
Screams and yells overtook the plaza as the onlookers stared in awe as they saw there once proud president stand before them on the balconey.
"You now have two options, Mr. President. Bow to me and I will let you live the rest of your life in exile, don't and I'll blast your brains out. Your choice."
Alfonso stared at him thats all he did, the General was infront of him holding the gun in his face and he did as his father had always told him
"Never fear anyone short of God" Alfonso whispered to himself right before he kicked the General in his crotch.
"GOD DAMNIT!" screamed the General
immediatly Alfonso grabed the gun the General had just droped and aimed it him.
"No matter how hard the wind blows the mountain must not bow to it, and if I go down," he got in the Generals face "Your coming with me."
The Generals soldiers ran out to witness as Alfonso shoot the General in the face.
Immediatly somone opened fire, Alfonso was hit in the stomach and arm, but the soldiers were also shot it seems as though the military snuck in and the plaza filled with loyalist Colombian soldiers.

Everything went black

December 1st 1941 Bogota, Colombia

As President Alfonso Putumajo limped onto his podium in the center of Bogota he was greeted by thunderous applause. This was his first appearance since the November Coup and still had many injuries and there were many rumors circulating of his death.
"My fellow Colombians," He began
"As I stand upon this podium Brazil is moving her army to our border, as many of you may now know weapons and funding have come from the Axis to aid the rebels who now have fled across the border to Brazil. This is an undeniable attempt upon our nation's sovereignty and a justifiable act of war, that is why I will be presenting the National Congress to pass our Declaration of War upon Brazil, and by extension the Axis Powers. If the bill passes I can promise you, the path to victory will not be easy, nor simple. Many Colombian lives will be lost, but you, my people must know, we did not start this war! The Fascists and Autocrats of the Axis did so! We have shown only cowardice by not joining sooner. Protecting freedom and liberty is the duty of every democracy!"
He broke into a near fit of coughs
" All my fears, all of my insecurities, my fear of death at this very moment and my fear of failure are all falling like tears in front of you!"
Again a fit of coughs
" We are surrounded, all of South America has fallen under this dictatorship ruse! It is our duty to liberate the poor drones! Those drones who are working endlessly for the "State", those fools who are disciples of a God that neither lives nor breaths!"
Thunderous applause broke amongst the crowd
"We are against historical odds! Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Are shoulders carry an awful weight! But still we must trudge on just the same!"
The crowd went wild and they began chanting WAR! WAR! WAR!
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we need all free minds to the front! We call upon women to the factories, men to the recruiting centers, we need your courage, your passion, your dedication, your conviction!"
The chanting continued WAR! WAR! WAR!
"We have been dealt with a low blow my people! But we are Colombians, now and forever. We are a proud and benevolent people! And we are who we are until the day we die..... or until we don't have the strength to go on!

less than a week later the Colombian Congress approved the Declaration of War, and on December 12th Colombian troops began crossing the Brazilian border into the Amazons and troops began loading into transports for the then classified "Operacion America" or "Operation America". The war had reached the Americas, rather unfortunatly as Colombia declared war the United Stated could not invoke the Munroe Doctrine..........

Sorry for the short updates, I have mid-terms coming soon but I will try to continue to update until Break, than I will do so more frequent.

I tried a couple of times a south american conquest (and eventually to the north and abroad) as Fascist Argentina (but never joined axis). It wasn't long until USA Dow'ed me (I had only annexed up to Brazil to Peru). USA guarantees everyone in the Americas. Ah, All hell broke loose. They were quick to deploy hundreds of tanks, had top of the line navy while I only had 2 tanks, a pathetic navy and some men on horse back..

I noticed you advancing to Brazil, that part of the country is wasted, it will take a very long time for them to advance..:p goodluck!;)

Well guys I regret to inform you this aar is pretty much dead.
I have no time as midterms are coming and I'll be getting Arsenal of Democracy and may continue then.
