There is some curse over the mods that are connected with Cold War. The Cold War mod for HoI2 died, this one is in stalemate, the Cold War mod for Darkest Hour is dead too. Realy, it will be good if the dev team in Paradox made a HoI like game, but for the Cold War. This will be the onley chance to play the most interesting part of modern history.

I'd love that, but if they ever did, it wouldn't be with the Europa engine, but Clausewitz. It would look like HoI3, which I find unplayable.

I don't think that the USA should have an advanced army in comparison to the USSR. On the contrary.
The airforce of Britain and America should be quite more advanced, the early Russian jet planes were crap except for the emerging Mig 15/17 and the navy should be alot more advanced. Except for the Russian subs, I think that they weren't that bad actually. Russia should almost have a cakewalk in Europe.

Concerning war in Europe - before USSR got its own nukes it was considered that by the usage of nukes on Red army, Allies would win. Or at least, so thought the British and Americans.

"Groves expected to have another atomic bomb ready for use on 19 August, with three more in September and a further three in October" (wikipedia)
So production speed in 1945 summer already was 3 bombs per month, and soon afterwards the speed increased in geometric progression. I think even 10 well placed bombs (in lets say 1946) might have been a very significant blow to Red army.
As for ability to hit strategic targets - French and British had idea that in case of war on Finnish side in Winter war, they would bomb Baku oil fields from Iraq. Maybe that was just a propoganda move to convince finns to fight on, but still, they appearently had capability to do so already in 1939. I'm pretty sure that at least a few other significant centers might be bombed already in 1945-1949.

Maybe someone already told you this (I didn't read all posts): Italy flag hasn't the Savoia emblem in the middle since 1948. Just the three stripes.

Beyond this, this mod/scenario seems interesting.

To bad this died, what we need is a cold war scenario that starts this early instead of the 80's or 90's

So, due to that I got more time yet I will try to make finish the base scenario. That means I will only work on the setting now. I start with a question. What do you think about changing the infrastructure and ic to a lower level? Depending on the destruction of the cities after WWII.

Cheers. Mexbuild

ITS STILL ALIVE!!!
And if your going to add lower levels because of war damage, make sure you also add events for "repair" in major cities.

I would add a decision for the Marshallplan. If the Americans accept to invest 20% of ther ic in europe for some years, the infrastructure and ic will rise to the prewar time's stand. Germany won't be able to establish an army until they have enough hawk lobby. The only thing I have to search for is the GDP of the world's countries of 1950 to calculate good ic-values.

You should also set the ai to build more IC than usual.
