Hit us with both barrels jech! Id be interested if you could give as much detail of the wars, DOW, political actions that happen on Japan by the AI countries as much as your actions.

Everyone complains that the pacific war is boring, itd be good to see how your game pans out.

You can be assured this AAR will be very detailed, not just about Japan but I will have many updates about the rest of the world!!

I will be using stacks of about 8 or so divisons in land wars (ai:China,USSR etc.) During my "Island Hopping" I tend to have alot of landing groups consisting of about 5 divisons, they are good for quick strikes and then moving on to other islands. Since the Allies hardly garrison thier Islands.

Thanks for the offer, I will probaly have some questions about screenshots if I can't get them to work, I want to have lots and lots of screenies!!

First update will now be tommarow, I am still trying to determine what sort of writing stlye would be best for this AAR.

Part1

Akita~Prime Ministers Vaction Home
January 4th 1936.

Kanin Kotohito entered the parler in full military dress. Already seated in the lounge were the Prime Minster, Armaments Minister and the Chief of Intelligence.

"Ah, welcome General" Okada Keisuke gestured for him to sit "We were just getting underway."

"Thank you Prime Minister." Kanin nodded at his leader.

"Well since we are all here, I think it is time to address why I asked you here. All of you are the heads of the three of the most important cabinet postions in Japan. Right now we face a conflict both internally and externally." Okada paused to take a sip of tea. "The Foriegn Minister, Mr.Hachrio could not be here because he is involved in talks with China."

"Gentleman Communism is spreading, already to our north it could soon be to our south. We need to work with China to oust the peasant Mao Zedong and his followers.

Kanin scowled at the notion of working with China "Sir with all due respect, we should not work closely with China. They are still considered our enemies and when war......."

Okada stopped him "IF general, IF. It is not a forgone conclusion that we will be entrenched in battle with the Guadoming. We can work our problems out."

"Really sir?" Kanin replied "China wants thier claimed lands back and if we don't crush them soon, they will strike us when we least expect. Plus our resource base is dwindling ever slowly but soon it will pick up the pace and collapse."

Ogwaga Otro the Araments Minister spoke for the first time "Sir, the General is right. We can survive with our steel and coal but our rubber and oil resources go down by the day.Sure, we can trade on the world market but it is not good to have only that to fall back on."

"No, No. You people do not understand. It is more then resources or revenge it is about diplomacy." Okada looked at Kanin "I do not need the military getting involved in even more of my affairs."

"Ah but soon you will Mr.Prime Minister, soon you will"

Okada sighed "Well meeting is adjourned I see this discussion going nowhere."

Okada lead the men outside to their waiting cars. For the first time Kanin realized that the Chief of Intelligence Takuso Shira, had not said a word. Shira made his way towards Okada.

"The meeting is next week at 7 p.m. in the Toyko location" Shira looked around nervously "Admiral Yammamoto and others may attend."

As Shira walked away, Kanin laughed bitterly to himself. "Soon you will...Soon you will Mr.Prime Minister........"

Good intro! Any idea on what 'kind' of Japan you'll be? Land-oriented (take over Asia) sea-oriented (take over all the Pacific islands and the like) or will you strike a balance of some sort? Also, what tech trees do you plan on climbing up the fastest?

Thanks!!

I would like some sort of balance, as I want Asia and the islands :D . My navy is very good right now so the Army and Air Force will be getting more attention.

Well I want to get good infantry and artilly techs, also I want some good tac bombers and probaly land docs.

Note~I will probaly change my writing style to be more of a history book type of thing. It was hard for me to write the story like a novel and this way I can be very detailed when the wars start.

Thats fine, I always enjoy the history-book format. You plan on building up all your brances of military? That should be cool, if you pull it off right.

You're off to a good start, I've always been interested in Japanese history so I'll watch this one to see how it turns out.

Good luck and keep going! :)

~Short Update, for the sake of updates sake :D ~

In January of 1936 the Japanese Empire stood at a crossroads. Should it take over all of Asia or play the defense? The military grew ever stronger in politics and a possible coup was in the making. Nonetheless the Japanese Army looked like this…

40 Infantry Divisions
9 Calvary Divisions
5 Motorized Divisions
3 Irregular Divisions (Militia)

On January 8th, Prime Minister Okada Keisuke issued a series of reforms hoping to spark the overseas industries. In short they called on Industries in Japanese held China, Korea and Pacific Islands to expand. Keisuke hoped this would increase production across the table as well as open up jobs for the locals and Japanese “colonists”.

These reforms did not sit well with the Military higharchy; they knew with money being put into the expansion package, they would receive less for research and production. They won a battle, which forced Keisuke to allocate all money going into Supplies to Research and Production. This after a comprehensive study at Tokyo University concluding that Japan had enough supplies to last 1 ½ years without buying any.

But the people were not happy with this decision, fearing starvation and lack of medical supplies, the peoples’ dissent rose until it was decided by a government research team that 5% of the people, if given a chance would topple the government. Keisuke pleaded with the military and finally got his wish of putting money into buying supplies.

The rest of the world was not that eventful. Italy annexed Ethiopia and Germany Reoccupied the Rhineland. Japans' only response was a short statement saying "It is regretfull". Communist China and Nationalist China signed peace after Chiang Kai Sheik was captured. This was roadblock in Japans plans to stop the spread of Communism.

Next update~Navy and Air Force updates and the Japanese Military gains more power.

BANZAI! I hope your empire expands into a shining example of what Japan could have done, and how it could have fared if it developed into other areas. Are you working into making Japan an industrial empire (researching Industry, Nuclear, and Rocketry).
