Hey this is my first AAR and wish me luck. I was playing as the Duchy of Apuilo when I realised my first-born son was a bastered and it would be cool to follow his path. This will be history book style, and it will start when Bohemond reaches man-hood with a short prolouge. Oh and there will be no screenshots for a variety of reasons including lazyness, lack of internet, and differnt computers, and much more!

Prolouge: The Conquest of a Kingdom

I assume everybody is familer with the norman conquest of Southren Italy, so I will start in 1066.

Robert_guiscard.jpg
I don't know whats going on?

Robert Guiscard "the Brutal" was the Duke of Apulio, and greatest of the Norman lords in Italy. Upon hearing of his Norman cousin's conquest of England Robert set of to conquor a kingdom for himself. From his base in Messina; Robert unleashed a brillent campain aginst the Sheik of Syrucuse, and forced his capulation. After two years of resting Robert attacked the greatest hurdle in between him and crownation, the Sheikdom of Palermo. Robert's nephew Serlo de Hauteville defiently beat a muslim force over three times his size while the Duke landed outside Palermo. After a year of seiges the Sheiks fortresses in Palermo and Agrigento fell. While his armies were still mobalised Robert attacked the last muslim Sheikdom in Scily, the Sheik of Trapani. The war if it can be called that was a bloodbath, and Scily was unified under Norman rule. On Feburary 15, 1073, Robert Guiscard Duke of Apulio, Sicily, Calabria, Count of Froggia, Apulio, Bari, Lecce, Consenza, Palermo, Agrigento, and Tradani was crowned King of Sicily.

Chapter One: Begginigs

Bohemond was born in 1057 the first son of Robert Guiscard "the Brutal". Sadly Robert devorced his Norman wife and married an Italian Princess, and those children were designated as the heirs. Bohemond was raised in the army and quickly gained a reputation as a Brillent Stratigest. He reached manhood in 1073, the same year his father was crowned king. Robert after his crownation cemented his kingdom by similtamiously attacking the counties of Cabua, Salerno, and Napoli. This was Bohemond's first war which he had a large command. Bohemond continuesly clashed with his father who would repeatedly not give him land, and this would in time reveal itself as a blessing. After two years of peace Robert agin looked for a new conquest this time across the sea. The war which was Bohemond's first indepentent command was aginst the small Duchy of Dioclea, and the Republic of Ragusa. In a few months both capulated, but this conquest was not without a cost. The nobels were unhappy with Roberts increasingly cruel and brutal rule, it would mean civil war.

How do you like the style would you like me to tell the story from Bohemond's and Robert's point of veiw or something else, you tell me.

So far it's been quite good! A picture or two would be nice though.
edit: Just read the first post again, can't believe I missed that, even if there are no in game pictures one or two historical ones borrowed from wikipedea would sefice

I edited the first post so it's not your fault, and thats a great idea about the pictures.
edit: I tried copying and pasting but it didn't work?

To put a picture onto the forum you need to right click it and copy the link location, then put it between tags like this:
picture

There's a shortcut for it which puts the tags on for you, just click on the incert image button. (14th button to the right in the second row, looks like a tree in a box)

NOTE: if it's a picture from your computer you need to upload it to a site like photobucket or imageshack
