It is the year 2200 and things have changed greatly on Earth from what you may know. 200 years will change w world. Near the end of the 21st century Earth was undergoing a period of upheaval. Resource scarcities and climate changes were straining the old systems and the old governments of the world. The next 50 years would see a period of violence and turmoil. Human fighting human, struggling and scraping to survive. Hard choices were made by some. Choices which would impact the people of that world for generations to come. Yet those choices would in time be seen as necessary if painful as what would rise would be something else.

Humanity had always been a divided species. Countless tribes, hundreds of nations, and more besides. Times and circumstances had more or less though finally given unity to the species. Their desire to learn and grow, tempered with the steel that had been necessary in those hard years would combine with a desire for community that would even reach out beyond their world. Finally they would master the arts of faster than light travel and the stars would open up to a people who called themselves Terrans. Humanity had been divided. The Terrans were united and in the name of the Terran Unity they would seek their destiny beyond their world.

Which is the backstory to our wonderful Terran Union. Starting out in the Sol system our humans in this little scenario are adaptive, slow breeders and communal. They are militarist, xenophiles and materialists. Let's hope that optimism doesn't get them killed. So come join the journey into the stars with us and see the terran's first steps into the unknown.

Special Note: I ended up losing the audio from about 3 hours of gameplay, so rather than just go over that I am starting from the beggining anew. So if you watched this before watch again things are slightly different.

Well I have to say the game is wonderfully fun. If you like space games you will enjoy it definitely pick it up if you can.

The Gamma Aliens to the north are one of those races with a superior technological edge. A bit bothersome. Still at least we have a wonderful world nearby right? Sending out my ships to do some major exploration along the arm since I can't warp over galactic arms yet. Hopefully the aliens nearby aren't feeling expansionistic either peacefully or not so peacefully.

We are definitely not alone in our galactic arm. However...given our neighbours I wish that we were. No matter the Terran Union is strong and we have survived our past we can survive our future. All we will have to do I suppose is expand and grow. Time will remove any edge they started with over us.

Hey we found a teapot...in space! Maybe an early experiment by one of the ancient nations of Earth the Britishians? Also the first Terran colony on another world! A wonderful world that many describe as a second earth. Many academia]cs discuss the idea that this world was terraformed for us by a race long ago and are busy searching for signs this is so and we have some ancient benefactor.

Your neighbours to the north are looking pretty scary. Hopefully you can band together with someone and crush them before they get too big. Maybe you'll even stand to benefit somehow.

Yeah they are. It adds an interesting dynamic when not everyone starts at the same level.

We have a few more worlds within reach the real question is which will be going for next? Diplomatic efforts are also underway to get ourselves an ally of our own should our neighbours to the north decide that the Terran Union is a threat. We do not seek out war but we do not shirk from it either. The duty of a leader is to protect the people.

All this examination of aliens world has completely changed how we view how life develops. Such wonders out there in space. We also have a good friend now so you know what no need to keep sucking up to the horrible mushrooms.

Not sure I approve of these people also calling themselves a union. There is the Terran Union and then there are other lesser unions. Speaking of we expand the Terran Union to a third world now with another colony ship. It takes a while to have terrans reproduce you need to get these going quickly and early.

The Terran Union is a world of interesting contrasts. On the one hand we have our wonderful little science vessels going around hunting down fuzzy critters for our space zoo. On the other hand we are planning to settle beach worlds to expand out power base. In fact soon we can settle ocean type worlds. Those aren't that different from Earth really.

The Terran Union will not be taking Alpha Centauri I think. Our friendly neighbours to the north seem to insist that it is there own and the accepted borders seems to be on their side. However we can't focus on that right now. Our neighbours have gone to war and thus we must join them against our rivals to the south-west.

We are at war. An interesting thing I am curious how well our Nymphs will do in battle. They may need to be improved a little perhaps we should funnel a bit more into our military industrial complex. Could be important. Perhaps a way to counter their shields can be found?

The war is going along slowly but it is going in our favour. It is going to just be a simple matter of time before we break them. The elite forces of the human military will rule both space and land. I have elite forces ready to move on in.

I love Space War 2233! That is the best of the Space War series if you ask me. What I don't like is our newest neighbours on the closest galactic arm there. Well now I have a completely new kind of worry to worry about even more than the guys to the north of us. Oh why couldn't you guys have been more like the Blorg? Welcome to the power of Fallen Empires.

So the Terran Union will be acting decisively here. Our defeated nearby neighbours we quickly strike against to take their remaining lands and bring them into the fold. Always the worry of the Fallen Empire on the mind but I hope that the space between the galactic arms will be enough of a buffer for them. If not well some worlds to abandon is important too.

Well we have branched out to another galactic arm. I am very pleased about this. Surely the Fallen Empire will not be upset about us starting new colonies so very very distant from him yes? Surely. Also I feel like my research is a little low. Need to invest more in that.

We have found a very interesting piece of ancient precursor technology. A ring world! Not only that but one that is protected by certain automated systems and guarding what has over millions of years gone from simple life but starting down the path to intelligence. Sadly the AI for the place isn't quite that smart I am going to need a better fleet to properly...investigate.

Some galactic house keeping to be done on the far arm and honestly what I could really use right now is more energy. Lots of it. With more energy I can have more ships. With more ships I don't have to fear my neighbours. No fear means happy terrans. Everyone likes being happy right?
