THE FIRST AI WAR AAR​

The beginning​

It was 5:56 GMT 12th of december 1935 when a strange object phased into earths orbit somewhere over southern pacific. A crablike thing with a glistening, ever-moving "liquid" surface. With a span of 2.5km from tip to tip it was huge.. but yet it could not be seen from earth, for it was a thing of darkness.. a shadow in the blackness of space.

If only anyone had known what had happened, if only anyone would have percieved the shadowy ship .. they would have known.. the shadows had arrived at last.

The first shadow battle-crab to orbit earth in 9000 years​

Within a few milliseconds after its arrival a strange disturbance appeared between its long spines.. with a silent twist, the ship morphed and sent off a probe towards the tranquil Earth. And then... then it just vanished, as quickly as it had come. And all became silent again.

A week passed​

Strange things began to happen. Sensitives all around the world reported seeing things.. things that they could only glimpse from the corner of the eye.. things that moved in shadows and stayed in shadows.. but were ever present.

The Shadows could only be seen by people with telepathic abilities.

With those creatures came a strange man. With ease he accessed any goverment and got the attention of any leader he wanted. Quickly he had visited all the worlds goverments (except cuban for some strange reason) and had always strated the conversation with one question.

"What do you want?"

The man introduced himself as Mr. Morden. He managed to capture the imagination of all leaders and goverments with no difficulty. Yet none knew that he had visited others. He presented himself as an ambassador.. and that he had powerful associates. With a few gadgets and demonstrations he convinced his audience that what he said was true. He offered them help. Help to bring down any other nation with war. Help to conquer the world...

So by the end of the year every nation,believing they were invincible, was drawing up secret plans for assaulting all its neighbourghs. Upon the insistence of Mr. Morden all those plans were kept secret. And all plans started on 00:00 01.01.1936.

Soon the world would be at war..

What is it? Every nation at war against every other nation (except for Cuba)?

The shadowy figure with the large shoulder pads approached in the dark. It asked a question in his unearthly language which made each word tingle as it spoke.

"Who are you?" it asked passionlessly.


From behind he another figure, that of a man (Morden) walked up and stood by the other figure. He spoke English and asked his own question.

"What do you want?" he asked with a wicked smile on his lips.


My head began to hurt. I clutched at my temples as the world around me began spin...... The images of my reality blurred and soon I was plunged into darkness. Then after sometime of being in the oblivion of darkness, a voice called out.... It came closer and closer. A tiny speck of light grew as it drew nearer. It was a face. A beautiful alien face of compassion, strength, morality and determination. Her lips moved as if to talk but no words came from her delicate mouth. I heard them a fraction later.....

"Come to me....come to me! You are needed!" she implored.

I stood their motionless. She repeated her request....

"Come to me....come to me! You are needed!" she repeated.

I tried to nod an acknowledgement but was frozen she beemed at me and her smile illuminated my form. I was dressed in an unfamiliar uniform. Attached to my chest was a pin of two figures around a large green gem. As I looked deep into the gem, I felt myself pulled into into it....stronger and stronger became the force. I resisted at first, but then it became too much for me and I fell into the depths of the gem. It felt as though I was falling through a large chasm. Deeper and deeper I fell until...........


... I awoke with a start. I was on my bed. It had been a dream. But what had it meant? I didnt know at the time but soon the Second Great War would commence.... The War of ...... the Shadows!

So there are no Allies, no Axis, no Commintern and such? Brazil at war against everyone, Czechoslovakis at war against everyone, Tibet at war against everyone, New Zeeland at war against everyone, etc etc etc... what a scenario! Earth will burn into flames! :rofl:

My guess? Well, I think that the Red Steamroller will steamroll and paint Earth red!

Yes. This Truly is an update.

It covers the early weeks of the wars up to january 26th. The teaser screenie (posted in my second post) was taken on 26th and is until now the latest.

but now.. some pictures with comments

and thats it by now.. I'll let the game continue later tonight and you can probably expect another update as soon as i can bother with it

(read: when i get enough comments )


But right now enjoy. This AAR was created with hard labour and with lot of love. It took me over 6 hours to declare war between all the nations and i had to do some savegame and scenario editing to make this all possible

The game is running fast despite my less than average ram and processor (1700 celeron 256mb ram) and the huge amounts of troop movements

Should I give US and USSR some dissent? Would the AAR be more interesting with those two steamrolling others or with a lot of minors squabbling and fighting between eachother?
