The UI is so horrible that when the UI mod I use isn't updated so I can use it, I just can't play the game because it's so annoying to play with lol. Like, the planet window is a quarter of my screen...

They should really add more templates for different resolutions people use.

This is EXACTLY why i don't play 4.0. I just cant. I can't stand it.

Haven't used the vanilla UI in years because it keeps getting more and more cramped. Honestly they should just hire the UI Overhaul Dynamic guy and have him do all the UI work.

Stellaris UI in terms of devleopement is one of the worst, I still remember Storms, maybe, release when they removed fleets from an outliner and defended it by "everybody likes that" while drowning in mostly negative ratings and avalance of complains.
Only Victoria 3 UI team is worse due to gross incompetence and because they never played their game.

I am more angry about placement of data between tabs rather than just the buttons.

  • Surface Tab is for building stuff. That is why we hide Construction Queue.
  • Management Tab is for...
    • Terraforming
    • Checking Your Pops Growth (and doing nothing about them)
    • Making Planetary Decisions
    • Making Planetary Ascensions
  • Economy is for...
    • Pop Resettlement
    • Looking at Pop Jobs (but not seeing their output)
    • Looking at two more detailed views on the job output.
    • Managing Jobs.
Proposal for alternative:
  • Top of Page: outliner which shows Housing, Amenities, Crime, Stability, Growth, Happiness, Total Pops (with breakdown per Strata after you click on it!)
  • Infrastructure Tab
    • Build Buildings
    • Enact Planetary Decisions (related to Infrastructure, not Pops) (put Terraforming here)
    • Enact Planetary Ascensions
    • Clear Blockers
  • Pop Tab
    • Planetary Decisions (Pop related like Stop Planetary Growth).
    • Pop Growth
    • Pop Stratas Breakdown with more stats! (Pop Empire Size,
    • Pop Resettlement
  • Jobs/Economy Tab
    • Job Management (show me just Job Upkeeps and Job Outputs. I don't need to think about 1.0 Pop Food Upkeep here)
    • Planet Upkeep
    • Planet Output
    • Planet Deficit
They need to add civilians to the top page next to available jobs.

The planet features (blockers and unique items) needs to be shown on the building infrastructure tab, and only show the blockers or unique items (unique on one side, blockers on the other column). Give an option to "see" all the features that make a plant the way they are, but most don't care. I don't need to see i have 4 fields, I only care about this special feature that gives extra researchers for a given district. I want to see planet size and type at all times if possible, so it should be next to the leader portrait on the planet.

I agree, pops need their own tab. Having a massive (useless) list of each one with a portrait doesn't help.

Two pie charts, one by species, one by ethics. Hovering over any portions gives the breakdown of the other in list format. Or make that list (no portrait unless hovering) breakout scroll tab.

Yeah but now you need it to fit the 800x600 4:3 CRTs Paradox's UI guy thinks everyone is still using.
I don't know anything about UI design or how it works. But at this point, build a 1080p standard UI and a "low res" UI custom fit to 800 x 600. Most are on 1080p (or higher) and I think that the game would really benefit from recognizing this.

Wait is that seriously the Steamdeck's resolution
PC games suffering quality loss thanks to other platforms is a tale as old as PC gaming.

From design issues, to tech issues, to the usual dumbing down of titles, every time a game shares platforms it seems like the quality decreases considerably.
