Literally the visual map has vanished on my save games and my new games. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. No world. I can wave my mouse over the map and it flickers with the name of provinces but none appear. I'm not zoomed in or out. Theres no box appearing on the mini map where Im supposed to be looking. This isnt so much a bug that has ruined a save but a bug that has killed the game and I dont know how to fix it - as ive uninstalled and reinstalled etc!

Sorry, is this just happening in one particular save game, or also in any new game you start?

In the latter case best to do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Imperator
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Imperator AND Documents/Paradox/Imperator folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add imperator.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Imperator or Documents Imperator locations, before installing again.

I have this same issue, running on Linux (arch). I performed the uninstall and cleanup procedure and it did not help. It does this for me when starting a new game. One minor difference is that I can see all of the country names, but other than that everything is blue.

I have tried reverting to 1.2, changing the fullscreen mode to windowed borderless, fiddled with all of the graphics settings including bloom, disabling steam overlay, etc.

I'm pretty sure the OP was on Windows, so this is likely a different problem at root.

Is it that 1.2 used to work but now it does this?

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/pdx_settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I haven't played in a while, but I believe 1.2 worked several months ago. As I mentioned though, using the 1.2 from the beta list doesn't work now.

If 1.2 used to work but does not now, there must have been some local change between times to cause this.

That 19.2.3 Mesa driver is fairly new but there's a 19.2.6 - any chance you can try that?

I have the same issue

Looks like it's a graphical issue as starting tutorial results in the same screen (but with the game running in the background).

Reinstalling does not fix the issue.
I'm on WIn7 on an i5-4590 with a GTX 970 driver 441.12

I'll try some stuff around and let you know if I managed to make it work

Still no luck.

I tried

- Updating Drivers to 441.66
- Updating to Hotfix 1.3.2
- Downgrading to last working patch (Cicero) still not working !
- Deleting Mods & Saves
- Full reinstall
- Disabling Windows Defender
- Playing around with graphic options
- Verifying integrity

Here's my logs

Could it be latest Nvidia Drivers are breaking the game?
That's the only thing I can think of updating lately

Tried capturing with Nsight to check if I saw any issue on my end.
Unfortunately, I wasn't very lucky into finding what could cause the missing Worldmap.

There doesn't seem to be draw calls of the worldmap (I can see the worldmap resource but it looks unused).

Attaching my capture of the issue here. Maybe you'll spot something I missed

Without PDB I figure that's probably the most I can do.
Let me know if I can help

No, as we'd have more than 1 or 2 reports if that were so. But by all means try reverting to older drivers.

Did your full reinstall include manually deleting the entire contents of the Steam-IR and Documents-IR folders, before reinstalling?

Can i get a dxdiag.txt from each of you please? I now have one other report of this, which also uses a GeForce 970.

Insanely, looks like NYE (or maybe the latest Hotfix?) fixed the issue for me.
I didn't change much so I'm entirely unsure why it suddenly works.

Here's my dxdiag in case it happens again to someone else
