What are the things that can be changed/inherited in a portrait?

Haircut, nose, ears, chin, facial hair...

What more?
The parts are: head shape (includes chin/cheeks), eyes, ears, nose, mouth and clothing...

My guess is Sigurd's wife has a really big, crooked nose. Almost every son (except for 2nd and the second-to-last) have this nose, which did not appear earlier. :p

Also, while the second son has his father's nose, the second-to-last one has a completely different one. A bastard per chance or just someone from second marriage? ;)

I've switched to salic consanguinity :)

How did you survive that? I tried it yesterday, and even with a ca 4 % rise in loyalty every month, the 0 % loyalty in the whole kingdom made me fall like a stone in less than two months!

Probably combination of luck, low scutage and high Diplomacy value (so he managed to regain most of the loyalty quickly before his nobles went apeshit :p)

Nice demonstration...I'm looking forward to going: "He has the nose of William the Conqueror! I have to make him duke of Normandy!" :)

The graphics seem rather good overall, they only things I can complain about is that the "front" of some of the faces seem a bit to even (there's more or less a straight line running from forehead to chin), and the nose on Haldor seems a bit off (could be a birth defect, though).

Yes, I'm nitpicking...but to think that there's a game where I can actually complain about these kinds of things is actually pretty amazing. :)

Must be, cause I tried once more now, and even with no scutage, high diplo rating, I lost half my country after five days.:p

Unlucky, Nikolai.

I switched to Salic Consanguinity as Denmark but only the scurrillous Counts of Sjaelland and Slesvig dared to rebel against the throne. :D. Easily put down.

Very impressive! I've updated with the Queen portraits, as well as indicators for bastards. You were correct on both accounts here :)

Aren't the count of Slesvig your son? He should be thrilled to have anything but elective as heritage law :)

I wonder if facial hair is carried through the mothers line as well as the fathers.

DNA traits are carried through female lines too - I'll have a new installement ready covering that (hopefully) later today... :)

Can you show us the Dukes of Navarra line?
