Common sense could tell you that this wouldn't be a thingSo, no planets owned by more than 1 faction, then, as there have been 6 or so threads on the subject with no response?
Common sense could tell you that this wouldn't be a thing. It's never been done before and would be a tremendous amount of work for a very rare and specific situation
I think I've seen it somewhere... Ascendancy? No... hmm... ok, I don't remember the game, but I'm quite sure I saw it somewhereIt's never been done before and would be a tremendous amount of work for a very rare and specific situation
I think you have reversed those two.systems (baronies) including planets (provinces).
A continent is a nice barony-type thing in Stellaris. But, let's think about performance for a moment.Yeah but this is a spacegame I doubt that it'll make sense to go from a galactic scale all the way down to CK2 like baronies and provinces.
A continent is a nice barony-type thing in Stellaris. But, let's think about performance for a moment.
We can have 1000 planetary systems. Let's assume 3 planets per system, on average. That's 3000 provinces. If we add 3-4 continents per planet, we are getting close to 10000 "baronies". It may be quite a lot for this engine...
Well, they have SOME impact.Baronies and provinces are no problems for the enginge.
I know that - but we do not know what planets will do exactly in this game. If a planet is an equivalent to processing 20 people in CK2, it may be a problem. Or it may not.Characters slow down CK2. RoI slowed down the game because many new characters. Not because the provinces in India.
CK2, as has been said.Common sense could tell you that this wouldn't be a thing. It's never been done before and would be a tremendous amount of work for a very rare and specific situation
Every baron is a character, that's how they impact performance, although barons don't get events.Well, they have SOME impact.
It will probably be tag based mostly. So far it seems like the characters are not playable and it's the thingies that are playable (tags in EU and HOI, characters in CK2) that need to be checked against each other every in-game day..I know that - but we do not know what planets will do exactly in this game. If a planet is an equivalent to processing 20 people in CK2, it may be a problem. Or it may not.
There is insufficient data for meaningful answer![]()
What does the EU4 expansion have to do with Stellaris?Common sense could tell you that this wouldn't be a thing. It's never been done before and would be a tremendous amount of work for a very rare and specific situation

I am not talking about characters. I am talking about calculations required per province and comparing that to calculations required per character in CK2.Characters in Stella are not like Characters in CK
Hmm should I give an answer regarding counters anyway...![]()

You have things like units and building constructed in the province, POPs and so on.
Hopefully, Stellaris will be 64 bit and support multicore and multithreaded processing better than CK2.
Already copnfirmed it supports 32 bit... sadlyIt was somewhere in the ask anything thread...
I think I've seen it somewhere... Ascendancy? No... hmm... ok, I don't remember the game, but I'm quite sure I saw it somewhere![]()
I fully agree that it has been done, but I can't recall the title either.
