That stretches up to Japan at least , and even down to the tip of Africa, Romans had many exploration expeditions and reached with trading outposts even corners of the India, south Asia and China, recently even Roman coins were found in Japan.
Well Sub-Sahara Africa is for me an adition they may skip (except for Sudan and the horn of Africa). Adding Japan has for me no added value aside from having those islands east of China. Around 0 AD Japan is not the most interesting place for an ancient empires game.
I'm fully on board of adding the whole Eurasian landmass however. China would add a lot of variety in what games to play and it could be fun leading a steppe tribe on a migrational course from east to west, or to China as in reality happend or from west to east for the heck of it. The whole wars of the Diadochi in EU:Rome is as good as non existend and Adding the Middle east and India will greatly increase the fun in playing a succesor of Alexander. Not to mention that adding the rest of Europe would help fleshen out playing as a barbarian or when building an empire.
