anyone else having issues getting the dam to produce electricity? No water is flowing through it.
Unfortunately this is a known issue yes. I've been trying to make it functional the last weeks, both in the editor, in a sandbox game and on my own playthrough. I've watched several videos about dams in CS2, and I've attempted to redraw it, make it wider and tried lowering the ground around it. Unfortunately I've been unsuccessful in making it functional. It remains pure cosmetic for now, with the unfortunate consequence of being fairly expensive on the budget to start. I apologise if this inconveniences the gameplay experience.anyone else having issues getting the dam to produce electricity? No water is flowing through it.
No the map is beautiful, thanks for creating it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.Unfortunately this is a known issue yes. Is it possible the new water isn't flowing in from off the map. It looks to me that maybe the water above the dam has turned into a lake vs a river since no new water is flowing in from off the map.Unfortunately this is a known issue yes. Well that needs to be fixed! Is it the tunnel close to the edge of the map, by the river? I'll check it out when I have time! There is a disconnected tunnel. Keep it in mind for future uprates. A great map!
I'll have to investigate that, thanks for the feedback! Is it possible the new water isn't flowing in from off the map. Yup. The one after the bridge. I believe its the northernmost outside connection. It’s easy to spot when sending a bus line connection north. I’m away from my computer and may be not as precise as needed. I know it is a minor issue that is easily worked around by using anarchy but hey. We are all here for the fun. The map is great indeed. A tiny bad feedback - the only thing I don’t like is the starting tiles are on the edge and makes it too easy for export at early stage of the game and leads to ugly creations during expansion.Well that needs to be fixed! I appreciate the feedback! I've been wondering about the starting tiles myself. It's not always optimal to start out in a place where expansion is limited, but it is a perfect spot to have all outside connections in one place. Do you have any suggestions?Yup. Great suggestions, I really appreciate you taking the time to write down your ideas and detail your reasons behind them. I'll be looking into it later this week (or after Christmas), and I will definitely put your feedback into consideration. Happy holidays, and thank you for your sharing your thoughtsI would just cut all of the most left-hand side starting tiles and add one or two on the right so it reaches the high-voltage powercords (at least the ones before the last update). This way we won’t have the need of the latest added high-voltage and not have a train intersection at the middle of the available area which would allow a bit more natural expansion At the moment if I want to expand up to the other side of the rails with a reasonable slope of the roads (up to 4-5%), I need to cut half of my available area with bridges which is an overkill at the beginning of the game. Such change would allow also a more natural planning of a train station and the area around it in the early game plus a better option to divert a cargo train down the coast where I tend to place the industrial area due to wind strength and direction. I tend to build a few smaller towns up to mid-game and such change would allow me planning some ring road for the first one and disperse transit traffic out of town. Plus that brings a better option for a cross-map highway when we have heavier zoning and higher building levels and heavier traffic. It will basically allow somehow more natural development and eventually more realism. That would not really affect the outside connections, except if someone is exporting sewege and importing/ exporting water, which is really solvable with the first level up. Alternatively you can keep just one block on edge of the starting area (probably the one with the road) but I believe it would bring some additional difficulty to the map if you don’t keep it. It is up to you, my friendthese are just suggestions that I am trying to describe and logically explain
I have not experienced nor heard of this bug before, but perhaps the new update has messed things up a little. You said that the palm trees are scattered over the map, but could you share any specific places so I'll know where to look? Or is random every time you load into the map? I'll be updating the map later this week (or after Christmas), and your feedback is greatly appreciatedAmazing map. Really well done. However I experience the bug that palm trees are scattered over the map. I assume it's a bug since it is a North American map?
I found the issue. It wasn't a bug, or maybe it started as one, but I think rather that it was just pure oversight by me. The palm trees were also present in earlier releases of the map, and therefore I don't suspect that the latest patch had any influence on it. Thank you for pointing it out, it'll be fixed in the next the update I'm releasing today!I have not experienced nor heard of this bug before, but perhaps the new update has messed things up a little. I noticed the same thing. My map started with -33°C, and pretty much stayed there through winter and Spring, until eventually getting a 33°C in the middle of summer, and only after closing the game and reloading the save did the snow disappear. I also noticed that the weather was refreshing and changing multiple times per game day. I'm not getting these issues with the same playset on a core map, so I suspect it's a map issue.Love the look of the map. I have notice one strange thing when playing with temperatures in Celsius. Shortly after starting the map the temperatures swing wildly between smoldering 67°C (152°F) and --55 °C (-67° F) depending on weather. Any ideas what might be causing this?
Hi--I'm also running into this issue, and I don't have this on any other map. Could it be something with the new update? I wonder if there's a solution for this. Too bad--I really like this map and hope it can get back to "normal" soon.I noticed the same thing. I'm very sorry to hear that multiple people are experiencing this issue. I'm in the process of moving currently, plus I've been pretty burnt out on Cities Skylines, and therefore I haven't and likely won't be able to diagnose and fix the issue for some time. I'd like to apologise for the very late answer and also apologise again for this issue occuring. If anyone has an idea of what might be causing it, feel free to leave any suggestions in this thread.
