hi, this is the military situation in march 1941(Titanium)..just before attacking Yugoslavia..I used nofog to see Soviet military buildup..I sucked as germany many times before in that mod and now considering the number of divisions, do you think I have a chance against soviets ? I know that I am heavily outnumbered in all areas but just want to know if there is hope for me

the Soviet AI arranges his defences in great depth

One of the real shockers the first time I played as Germany. It makes it a real challenge. One suggestion I have heard is to commit armor and motorized infantry to either the north or the south - but not both. Focus on one objective - ie either Leningrad/Moscow or Stalingrad/Baku and go for it. Just use regular infantry in feints at the other end until you reach your objective.

You do if you have a large airforce.
By the way you should not be building so much garrisons, it uses a lot of MP.

I have 8 TAC and will have 8 CAS by June..not huge airforce..I placed 2 garrison divisons on each of the french and norwegian coastal provinces..is it too much ? how could I guarantee my western front while I am busy in the east..

It depends on your assault strategy. A note of caution: the Soviet AI arranges his defences in great depth, so large encirclements likely won't be feasible.

I will try to encircle them in ukranian plains with my all mobile units(18 motorized and 13 armor)..yes,once I tried massive encirclement in ukraine but the russian were growing like snowball while I was advancing to close the pocket..this time I will try small encirclements and see what will happen..

If all else fails, lure the soivets across the river, into the marshes, to grodno, around kiev on your side of the river. wait till they poured all their divisions in the epic battles you started. then see they leave their provinces in the rear and flanks open or really poorly defended and strike fast and far. with a little luck and planning you could be able to mass encircle them around klintsy. at least in the earlier versions...

hi again, I started my barbarossa today..I encircled 8 divisions in grodno and brest-litowsk..I did those encirclements with sole infantry because my mobile units is in southern front..there I encircled 30 divisions (Cutting them from Odessa to Romania)..now(July 12) in south, Dnieper river lies along my front..russians have many divisions on each province..I tried several times to take Priluki (my plan was to connect with north and make collapse entire kiev sector) however I can't cross Dnieper I am taking heavy casualties and my mobile units are losing org. quickly while trying to cross the river..after several times, I am convinced that I should try different strategy to cross the river..could you give me some tips about what to do ? thanks..

here is the screenshot..

I'm afraid that you will loose the war against the soviets. I think the only thing that works in WIF mod in the eastern front is the "classical blitzkrieg". Hit the Soviets only one point, but with all your panzer armies, go fast forward and make large (at least 3-4 provinces) pockets. You should do this all the time in 1941, if you worked fine in 1942 you can unleash 2 concentrate attack point at the same time.

Like said before. Too many garrisons, too less inf. (airforce should also be bigger, but if u are good then this will do )

U must blitzkrieg in USSR, in the time in your screenshot u should already had cross the river in the south. And in North and middle u should already had reach Riga, Smolensk and Minsk.

Use your panzers (only in south) not for difficult battles (many ussr div is bad for panzers) but seek for weak points and use them there in combination with your airforce (use them wish, only send them on mission when u really need them)
Don't go through the pripet area, but go for Smolensk and Kharkhov(then to north to Smolensk) and close it. Many div will be capture in the middle.

U should then go for Moscow/Leningrad (Moscow u can capture in August
)

But i think its lost for u. This game, Next time build INF (no armor, GAR) and planes (TACT are good in USSR) and some 6 CAS for invasion Poland and Fall Gelb
