A while ago the game's launcher started showing an error that it could not detect the mod's files. The error in the description of a red triangle says: "This mod is missing a descriptor file." When I restart the launcher, sometimes the error changes and: "This mod is not present on disk." I have tried all known methods including reinstalling the operating system but the result is still the same. I've attached screenshots of the error message and related folders. It will probably turn out to be a simple issue but I need your help.

You are not quite on the latest launcher 2022.5.1 . If you log into the launcher, does it update itself accordingly?

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you. All the best!

I tried what you suggested. I've done similar things to what you suggested before. After setup Windows, I started the launcher without installing any mods and it had updated itself to the latest version. Then I installed the mod when everything was normal. It didn't give an error when I first installed it. When I exited the game and then entered Steam again and started the game, I saw the same error message again and the game started without a mod even though the mod appeared to be installed.

I see you are still not logged into the launcher. Is there a problem doing that?

That aside I have no real explanation for this problem happening to you. If you make a new Windows user on this machine, and log into Windows as that, doe sthe same problem happen then?

Previously I was playing in Steam offline mode without any issues. When I reinstall the mod, there is no problem, I can play the game with the mod. When I log out of the game and Steam and then log back in, these errors suddenly appear. Mod not available on disk and mod's descriptor file missing errors. I delete the EU4 folder in my documents and uninstall then reinstall the mod and the problem goes away. Then when I open the launcher again same problem. Thank you for your interest. I will find a temporary solution. Maybe an update will fix my problem.
