I like this mod quite alot, howver Ive never really do very well with it. Ie: As Germany after conquering Poland, I decided to move my forces to the netherlands and belgian border. With an historicaly adequite force of over 00 divisions, including 20 well placed armored divisions, I atacked, and in no time at all was fighting a war of attrition. My panzer divisions did crap and would fight for a bit before losing to much org and losing. The AI always stacks huge amounts of crap infantry, hides behind a river, and waits. And somehow it seems even 30 adequitley lead 1941 german divisions cannot defeat a forc of 6, 1936 belgium and dutch divisons. This makes no sense, no matter how much I try and move and atack, it always ends up with myside losing becuase of organization. And this is not becuase of internal research problems its the stupid mods adjustments to fighting. The same thing hapened to me with Japan verus China, my 25 divisions of japanese 1939 infantry could not take 6 divisions of 1918, crap chinese armys. Why is this hapeneing i dont want to go back to dd vanilal but will if this mod doesent in some way act fair. Please am i fighting wrongly? someone tell em how u do it? the patern i see with this mod is even with superior men and superior numbers, and surounding, or ambushing the enmy the battle will seem to just go on and on with no org hits to the enmy? why?? SOmeone please help me figure this mod out. Oh and alos why does the AI alwasy fight wth like 12 stakced armies of units always split into units of 3 divisons or less? is this more efective then mased 8 to 12 armies? I will apreciateall help thnx

Questions, questions, questions...

What difficulty? Aggression? (e.g. Normal/Normal or Gröfaz/Furious?)
What's your TC/Transport Capacity? In the red can hurt you combat odds. Dissent also results in a penalty.
Do you have an HQ near big stacks, there is a -75% penalty (IIRC) for attacking divisions over the commander's capacity.
Are you willing to be cheesy? You could draw the AI out, let it cross the river, then attack or encircle them after they're out of position.

i tend to use my tank divisions as an old-school cavalry rather than an armoured fist. i.e. to chase after the enemy is already broken.
Maybe let the infantry tackle the enemy then let the panzers roll in afterward and claim the credit and take the province?

How is your airforce doing?

For more specific advice, you could maybe post a screenshot and have a few resident experts dissect your forces, deployment and offer a few suggestions?
(A virtual General Staff conference, eh? Or mini-AAR)

You could also adjust the combat/org/speed settings in difficulty if the rest of the game is challenge enough without the AI being a stone-wall/steamroller.

If you are new to playing HOI2,this mod is made for players that have mastered the game and need a better challenge, but there are many many thing that could be why you lost,as said in the post above.if you are new to hoi2 make sure you play on easy, playing on Gröfaz/Furious can be challengeing to most players.

good news is that these forum are full of helpfull players that can give idea's and tips on how to beat the game. go to http://hoi2.nsen.ch/wiki/index.php/Main_Page there are many strategies Guides and tip there.make sure you give more details on games gone bad.... ;)

like others said HSR is something for the People that mastered HOI2 or DD.

The Key is to forget all your Standard-Tactics from Vanilla. Superiority in numbers is no longer the Key to success. For example i defeated Japan with about 40 Divisions fighting in Asia when they had a combined total of about 150(Chinese and Japan combined). Encirclements and flanking are your friends here. And make sure you have the appropriate unit type for the terrain your attacking. Ive seen 3 Mountaineer Divisions succeed where a stack of 15 Armor failed.

I really like the Mod cause it offers the exact challenge you describe. There aint no realy easy way to win(im curious if anybody has ever invaded Russia succesfully on Gröfaz).

Ya you guys are probably right, the difficulty was one normal, can it go lower then that?
But thanx for helping me, im going to go backto dd vanilla for a while, play a couple campaigns and come back to stony road for another go! iel probably be better then thnx for ur help ttll

There are serval mod out there that are very good but might not leave you fursterated like HSR can.both CORE(hoi2 only at this time) and HIP(both hoi2 and dd),TRP(only hoi2 but in beta with its DD version)all these are great mods but differnt in there own way. :)
