Not always easy to do, and not everyone has the equiptment to do it. ;)
 
This used to happen to me back when everything was installed from floppy disks. You should contact whoever your publisher is and ask them if you mail the bad CD to them if they will mail you a good one. I used to do this when my floppies would go bad. They may charge you $5 or something, but it may be the only hope you have outside of buying a completely new copy.

EDIT: Please check the problem on another computer so we know whether it is alright for us to blame the CD. :D

I didn't get it to work and then I just forgot all about it, but then I saw it in the store and I just had to buy it =D
