The first bug I noticed immediately after installing the director's cut was that some of my commander icons show up missing in Strategic level. The stars for their rank are still there, and if you select them the skill are there, but the icon is just black. I didn't have this problem ever in 1.06, and installing the director's cut patch 1 did not fix this. The icons reappear only in tactical mode. I'm running an old gtc 7600 series card if I remember correctly. No other graphics issues.

I notice I couldn't attack some fleets even if they were moving at a Grandma pace and I was right on them. I would hear the "fleet got away" message right on top of the "will will destroy them," message. I thought at first maybe my fleet was patrolling too long and needed to resupply at a port first. I thought this fixed it with a different fleet earlier, but this didn't work with the next fleet more than once. So I had to reload my last save, cancel the order, reorder an attack and it worked again.

One other bug that is the worst is in the trade view window with director's cut. Sometimes when you try to sell one particular good it actually tries to sell the good listed just above it. I remember all I had on one ship when this was happening was tobacco and silverware. I did not want to sell the silverware there (I also had no warehouse there) and the best price for tobacco was in that port. But it would keep showing the quantity and price for silver when I was selecting and clicking on the tobacco icon which was a different quantity all together. I'm not sure if a reload will fix this either, it happens the most often.

Hi TeamCav!
I am running Directors Cut with patch, called version 1.12. The first bug with missing Commander Icons I have not seen.

The second bug, the Strategic Attack Bug, I have seen a number of times, but thinking that I have done some mistake myself. Since I am not alone, now I understand it is a bug.

The third bug, with Selective Goods Trading, I can verify that I have seen many times and it is very irritating.

I hope the designers will read this and do something!

Thanks for posting. Glad I'm not alone in this. Maybe they will look into it. I know the icons disappeared on a few commmanders from my 1.06 version saved games but from the new commanders I made after that, some had the same bug.

Wow... This has become a horrifying bug with attacking ships. It's gotten to the point where reloading doesn't actually work anymore. The ships just sit there, for example the pirates who flee after a fight, and I can't re-initiate combat. All the slots are unplayable now. This is really bad. I can't believe this wouldn't be popping up on other peoples games more often.

Doesn't sound right. I'd do a reinstall if something went wrong with the updates. Maybe the updater couldn't replace all the files. Or maybe it's the savegame from some previous version? Does this happen when you start a new campaign with Designer's Cut 1.12?

Yes. I finished my previous campaign, loaded DC and patch to version 1.12, and then started my current campaign. There I have seen two of the bugs, the Strategic Attack Bug and the Selective Goods Trading bug. The bug with selective trading is pretty easy to get.

It seems to have something to do with "aggressive mode," also. I noticed that my ships set on patrols or just sitting there with this mode would let enemy ships just pass over them when this bug was occuring. I kind of found a trick but it was very annoying to do. I brought another ship over that was a sloop and attacked the said vessel. Then I cancelled because it would have been a bad fight. I also noticed this new "sloop," boat couldn't attack again either. But now I was able to get my galleon to attack this enemy boat when it couldn't a moment before. Like as if a pre-combat screen had to be initiated by another boat for my galleon to have it's bug "turned off," at least for one attack try only.

To clarify, it seems like when the bug is going on, you only get "one attack chance," and then someone else has to get into a fight to get that pre-combat screen up to reset the bug. Whether or not they are attacking the same ship. The only easy way the saved games don't have this corruption is if your fleet had the aggressive action turned off before the "save" of your game, and you weren't initiating a combat command to chase and fight.

It will take me a while to start a new campaign and get some attack vessels and what not, but I may have to do that now to try and see if that is part of the issue. However, this might seem a little futile now, because Capt Nemo is stating he has tried this already.

Or maybe my commander is just too old. He is approaching 60 soon and might want to safely retire in one piece. *rolls eyes*
