I've been working a lot on experimenting with Ryukyu, and it's been a lot of fun failing spectacularly. In no particular order, here's how they've gone:

1. Preparing to invade Korea to take the southern provinces which can be cored only to have the Ming guarantee Korean independence.
2. Invading Korea and thinking "Where did their army go?" only to realize it has just successfully landed in Okinawa.
3. Preparing to invade Champa only to have them ally with Ayutthaya.
4. Invading Champa and annexing everything which makes coring impossible.
5. Inavding Champa, vassalizing all but Amaravati. Coring Amaravati. Fabricating in Stung Treng. Conquering and vassalizing Lan Xang. Thinging I'm all baddass. Getting stomped by Ayutthaya, Dai Viet, and Shan who had taken a nice chunk out of Ming.
6. Half a dozen or so times of preparing the first invasion only to have something happen to the Ming causing trade income from Hangzhou to disappear.
7. Finally get a good start. Start the whole Ryukyu rampage. Get to Europe. Get the Peasant War event. Watch manpower vanish. Get nationalist rebels everywhere along with the peasants. Lose everything.
8. Invade Korea. Core Jeolla. Have Japan declare war and with their navy, trap your entire army while they capture Okinawa. Face waves of vassal armies until worn down, you are defeated.
9. Inavde Korea. Get stomped by Manchu before getting anything going.
10. Invade Malacca. Have great relationship with Ayutthaya giving yourself a very false sense of security. Get invaded by Ayutthaya who takes Malacca away.

I'm tempted to try DDRJake's Japanese Americans trick only vassal-core the Aztec territory followed by Incas for the massive income boost, and then head back to Asia to conquer enough provinces for the manpower necessary to conquer any European colonial attempts.
