1. I've been successfully attaching brigades to units all game and now I can't. Any idea why?
- I am UK; I have a couple of SPArt in London and cannot attach to Armour or HQ in Dover and London
- I have an SPArt in Ghent (by detaching from a unit there) but cannot reattach to that unit or any other
- likewise an Art in Rotterdam won't attach to the Inf there
Have I upset the programming by detaching a brigade when on the continent?

2. As UK, in 1942, I have a presence in France (after Germany took it and I D-Dayed) and Yugoslavia and the war is fairly balanced. Shortly after, Russia invades Germany and all hell breaks loose. Spain, Portugal and Greece all DoW me! Why? I had high relationship with 2 of them.

3. Foreign Minister traits are all described as things like " -67 (-100) ". What do these numbers mean?

4. When I Surrender/Quit, the program crashes to desktop rather than reverting to main menu. A bug?

5. When I reload, ships of Allies that I have Taken Control of, seem to forget their orders. A bug?

6. In a few situations, units with full Org have atacked then stopped instantly. Only seems to happen with Taken Control units and then only occasionally. A bug?

7. I read that puppets are supposed to give me all resources above 1000, but I don't see it coming through. In particular the Stats page has a "resources flow" table that has zero from puppets. And I have puppets with more than 1000 of some resources stockpiled. How is it supposed to work.

I don't know about most of those, but for number 3, the number refers to the new cost of a diplomatic action. For instance, something that used to cost 100 would now be only 67. I would try to get the latest patches for the game and see if that fixes the last three.

What version are you running ? Mines 1.2 thats Armageddon by the way.

1. The only reason I know is that your unit is supplied offensively. So, wait until the end of the period.

3. It's a cost of diplomacy actions in $ (under normal conditions). 100 - is normal cost, 67 - modified. Another ministers and sliders could affect it too.

1. Did you detach the brigades in other provinces? If you detach a brigade in say North Africa you will only ever be able to reaattach that brigade to a North African division that has land access from the province you detached from.
2. Sounds like a very odd situation. Was Spain/Portugal/Greece allied with Germany? Or did you have democracies can declare war on? Relationships in this game are only used for getting better trade deals, they hold no sway on whether the AI will attack you
3. Been answered
4. Yes it's a bug
5. Yes it's a bug
6. What happens is you set the attack then your ally immediately sets them to stop. I'm not sure why they do that but it's annoying :p
7. Go into production tab and hover your cursor over energy, metal etc. And see if the puppets are giving resources away. Or it could be that your puppets can only keep their resources at 1000. Which puppets are they?

1. One brigade was detached in Ghent and I'm trying to reattach in Ghent. Another was created in London and I'm trying to attach in London. So it's not location that's affecting it. I will however check whether or not the units are Offensively Supplied as I had no idea that was relevant.

3. Spain, Portugal and Greece all allied with Germany a moment before DoWing me, The Allies and SU. What confused me was why a few small countries would want to support Axis that was dieing on all fronts. Maybe a mutual hatred of SU, who had only recently DoWed Germany?

7. I don't remember the Production screen mentioning puppets when I hovered before, but I'll double check. Relevant puppets are mostly the ones UK starts with, like Yemen, Oman, etc. One or two are definitely hitting the 1000 mark in stockpiles, eg oil.

1. You will not be able to deploy in Ghent since it is not a core and overseas, but why you couldn't deploy in London I'm not sure.

3. Ok what must've happened is SU DoW on Spain, Portugal and Greece. The AI will try to get into the nearest alliance it can to protect itself which was the Axis, but at the same time by doing that they made themselves at war with the allies. The same happens with South American countries if the Axis attack those, they will immediately join the Allies.

7. Yemen and Oman can barely support their own economies let along sending you materials. I'm guessing that they've gotten the oil from the coal-energy conversion tech since that's basically the only tech team they have (and will research). Another thing is that the puppets needs to have convoys to send you resources. No convoys no resources. And you can't give them convoys either :p (unless you go into the save file ;))
In Arma they changed it so when you release a puppet they will get 100 convoys to start sending to their overlord. So if you released Malaysia with it's huge 80 rare materials you would not be able to benefit from that simply because they cannot send the materials across.

I've solved some of these. Or rather the community has done so - thanks.
1. This was definitely due to the Offensive Supply thing. Soon as that wore off, I could attach brigades in UK and the one in Ghent. Interestingly, though, the one in Ghent could only be attached to a unit in Ghent itself and not just to any unit in land connected to Ghent as I'd expected.
3. You may or may not be right. Would SU DoW on Greece/Portugal/Spain have shown up in my messages? Didn't see it. They appeared to just join Axis spontaneously. However, you might be right: Greece, being a democracy, could not have joined Axis-at-War without being under threat themselves.
7. Actually, I've now spotted that I have convoys coming in from places like Aden and Kuwait that are disproportionate to the local production and seem to be linked to the surpluses from Iraq and Yemen being dumped in my nearest province. I also have a convoy in from Rome directly, which is puppet-Italy land, as I have no adjacent land province. So it seems like I have to provide the shipping myself, that the puppet-payments are not identified explicitly, and hence that Stats doesn't see them.

Follow up on foreign minister traits - does anyone have a view on the best ones? I'm UK, playing DD, and am trying to get a few neutrals onside, at least for non-agg, preferably to bring to alliance. So, initially the minister who has Influence Nation: -67 (-100) seems like he's saving me money. When relationships are high, would another Minister help get them into alliance? There are some traits listed as " 0 (0) " which sounds as though they are reducing a cost from zero to zero?
