I have been working (A LOT!) whit a set of events called New Order. I've just finished with them, but when I install them to a fresh copy of HOI, as soon as the first events fire, time stops! That is, the clock stops an won't restart, no matter if I pause and unpause, change time compression, nothing helps. The game otherwise seems to funciton OK, I can give orders, go to the ledger, open up units etc.

If I try to reload it causes terminal freeze (hard reset neccessary).

Now, these first events are in themselves not the reason for this, since I've run them separately before.

In my hunt for this nasty bug, it would help enormously if anyone had the slightest idea what could cause this kind of bizzare behaviour by the game.

Anyone? Pleeease? :(

By sheer dumb luck I discovered what's causing the time stop:

An event with start- and death date, but no offset.

Problem solved.

Glad you solved your problem.
For future reference, ask editing questions in the Scenario forum, they will be able to help better.
