Hi everybody,

It was a long time since I visited the EU 2 forum. I have thinking about EU 3 and now when im finally back I find a thread about new provinces and EU 2 map editor.

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=185057

Is it true that there already are or will be new provnices in EU 2??
If so then i dont now what to say  :D
This is like a dream becoming true! :)
Can i make new provinces on my own or is there a download somewhere which will get me more provinces on the map.

If all this is real, then i will be playing EU 2 again and for the third time making a world conquere.

Thanks in advice ;)

(P.S. With this news it doesnt even bother me that Sweden lost to Germany 22-27 yesterday.)

I have donwload and installed the map editor and then "Open map../.../map/" it says one file missing: acctually it is the province.csv. Where do i find this (or to download) or what should i do to fix it??

But how i now really make more provinces? :?
You don't yet. My editor is not finished, and Inferis' editor is still being alpha tested.

Editor looks great :D cant wait for poeple to start moding the map hopefuly improving it with making more provinces in certain ones and deviding other in half to make things last longer in the game :)

Is it true that there only can be maximum of around 1600 provinces and not more?
Anyway I hope there can be done something to Europe, so it gets more provinces and then you can merge some in Africa, China and America (especially NA). Coz Europe really neeeeeeds more provinces, coz its there everything happening ;) , I mean wars etc...

bwt. I know the final editor havent come out yet. but where do i find this editor, is it Inferis' or Wisk's editor that i shall use to create more provinces.
When i try to download the editors on Inferis' website, it says that i have to have a ".NET Framerate" or something (this is 24mb!!) for it to download. Isnt there any easier sollution?

The latest beta patch for 1.08 allows up to 2020 provinces.

My editor does not yet allow changing the border of the provinces, only editing the shading and connections.

Inferis hasn't released his editor yet, but you do indeed need the .Net framework for it to run.

Great news thanks, althought I must download the framework.
What is the difference between Yours and Inferis' editor?

What is the difference between Yours and Inferis' editor?

The difference is that Inferis' editor is capable of actually making new provinces and stuff, while WiSK's isn't (yet).

Another difference is that WiSK's editor has been released in it's current form, while Inferis' editor is still being alpha-tested.

This means that you can't get Inferis' editor yet, so there's no rush to download that .NET Framework thingie.

Once both are released and polished, the differences will become more apparent.

The premise of Inferis' Magellan tools is to make it simple to edit a piece of the map in Photoshop, Paintshop Pro or similar. He is using an import/export system which means there are a couple of steps to perform between finishing your editing and having the map ready for EU2. Inferis' tools will do all of the work with regards province adjacencies, TI-fog, borders and rivers. Because much of the obscure stuff is done for you, you can generally expect your map to work in EU2 right off the bat.

As an alternative, my EU2Map editor is aiming for more control perhaps at the expense of simplicity. It will require the user to somewhat understand the relationships between border, river and adjacency. EU2Map uses mouse area-selection, followed by copy and paste to move bitmaps to and from the graphics editor. The goal is for all changes to be incorporated into the map files immediately, so saving would be fairly quick.

So the latest patch allows 2020 provinces. Will this mean i can add a maximum of around 400 new provinces?

Im not so good at such things as editors etc. Will it be hard to change anything with the editor for those like me?

Yes, 405 provinces to be exact.

Yes, Inferis' tools are quite complicated.

Oh my God! Either I've fallen out of my chair and hit my head a little too hard, or I've died and gone to Heaven.
You mean we will be able to change the Map? make new provs? Remove PTI?
*jumping up and down like a giddy lil girl!* When and how can us *dumb* silent vinilla (SP, no less) players do that?
