Oh also the development for Yemen seems excessively low? Maybe someone with more expertise can chime in but San'ā, 'Adan, Zabīd (the Rasulid capital), Ta'izz, and maybe Ibb were all decently prosperous cities, no? Many coastal settlements of Eastern Arabia were prosperous as well, though less from agriculture so much as pearl diving and trade, so I'm not sure if they qualify for development.

I like the thick "black lines" to show the market's borders but I'm not a big fan of the non costal sea tiles and wasteland's colour of the market map

Could you make these two corridors to?

As historically there were less army movements towards that routes, and I think having corridors there would better represent it, there were a reason many states’ borders stopped at there

Are these bugs or intended? Both the arrows and the language I mean
I think the language is intended as Socotri and Mehri are South Arabian languages that genetically are closer to the Ethiopian languages, even though they are not actually Ethiosemitic (they certainly didn't use the Ethiopian script). Though culturally the Mehris are pretty much considered Arabs with a weird "dialect" from what I hear.

I'm not sure what the best solution for representing their languages is tbh.

  • Added minorities

You might notice that, for once, we were happy with the current location density of this region, so we also added some wastelands and corridors to make sure it worked better (for instance, we linked southern Oman with southern Yemen through corridors). Most of the changes were done on the country setup, and other layers. Let's take a look now at the maps:

Lots of changes from feedback suggestions! The most noticeable changes happen in central Arabia, and also in the Persian Gulf (you might notice that we've already reviewed the Persian region... Don't get anxious, please, there will be another feedback post for it soon!

We're testing some new coloring for this map mode, what do you think about it?

Population
Although we have fixed our pop editor, we want to make a general pass on all pops before any more feedback review is shared, since we have some issues regarding those errors here and there.

And that's all for today! On Friday we will be taking a look at the flavour content for Scotland, cheers!
Isn't Al an article in Arabic?

Can sea-tile be extended to Basra? If the same thing was done for Bristol and Seville why not do this here? The Middle East also deserves nice things.

Ormus should also own the location of Al-Qatif, from Pedro Teixeira's translation of the state history of the kingdom:

Xa Kodbadin refers to the current ruler, Qutb ad-Din, who conquered Barhen (Bahrain) and Katifa (Qatif) in 1330-1331

Also, Dhofar (Zafari, the kingdom) should be a little smaller, basically just the locations with Dhofari culture rather than the whole province and island of Socotra, Ibn Battuta wrote that it had no dependencies:

It looks like dates as a good are merged with other fruit? Interesting. I'd figured they were separate to give different fruit goods to North Africa and the Middle East so they can trade with Europe, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa for different fruits.

Please tell me this reconstruction of the Rasulid banner/sanjak is the flag of Yemen, the one in EU4 is the flag of the Kingdom of Yemen and it's too recent!

I feel like the non-coastal sea tiles not being colored in the Markets map mode doesn't serve much of a purpose while breaking the map coloring continuity. I want my Mediterranean Sea to be Ulm-colored 100%!

Are "overlord coloured vassals" turned on, or off? Are Otaibah and Sutay vassals of eachother in any way? If not, then their colours are way too similar for neighbours

Since Country Type and Government Type are two different things - can a Tribe be an ABC, and can a Steppe Horde government country have a different country type than ABC?

While I have no problem with the setup, I'd like to nitpick a bit that Oman is frustratingly small and spaghettified. Perhaps you could place a part of the wasteland in rhe Najd under it, so if would look a little less weird?

While I might be alone with this, I preferred the display where the terrain type of wastelands was shown in the map mode, so that they weren't black patches in these.

Lots of dates!
