This is not a bug but it should be changed in the next Swedish patch.

I remember when Karl IX became ruler of Sweden I hit the info button to get the historical info. Instead I could read about Karl XII.

Obviously the texts has been mixed in places.

I would like an easier way to change the timescale.
I at least often want to change the timescale several times during a single year.

Use the shortcut keys. It's <CTRL><+> for speeding up and <CTRL><-> for slowing down, if I remember it correctly. Any easier than that, and you would need a new generation of computers. ;)

Uhm... nice province. I
think I'll take it.

Hello Hartmann,

I think I found another bug (pretty sure of it) to include in your list. Would be nice if someone could confirm ofcourse.
If country A has an army in province X, it appears that reinforcements sent to the same province (by country A or some ally) will just stand by if the situation of the original army has changed from the time of despatch of the reinforcements.
For instance the original army is besieging but gets attacked before the reinforcements arrive. Then the reinforcements don't do a thing, and sometimes they even seem to 'encourage' a battle freeze.
Same if the original army is just waiting in some province but gets attacked before the reinforcements arrive.
Actually the bug seems to occur if the position of the icon on the map representing the original army has changed place, from neutral or attacking position to defending position.

greetings, Oranje

Confirmed, I've got the same trouble.
The relevant menu option stays grey all the time, so as an alliance leader you cannot kick any member (should carry a relations penalty ofcourse).

16 is not a bug.. manual is wrong :(

20 is probably not possible to get fixed if you have multiple patches installed.

/Johan

needs fixing, urgently: balancing of army/navy (and monthly incoming)!
example: turkey in 1660 had 435 warships, 454 galleys and 84 tranports. it´s army was only a mere 80000 men.
the upkeep (at 50% readiness) costs for this 1000 ships armada was 135.2 ducats/month, which equaled 95% of turkey´s monthly income! and the ai was still mass producing ships. the effect of this building 'strategy': they rule the sea, but loose any land war, they loose the battle of technology and will face a horrendous inflation.

It is impressive and relieving to see bugs getting immediately fixed like this! Great job and I can't wait until the release here in the states. I hope you guys sell 1 million copies in the US so you can continue producing high caliber history based games such as EU(and release them here first).

Bug has been found and fixed :)

Johan, sorry for not including this in my earlier e-mail but I was wondering if you could summarize the bugs that have been fixed to date and any that are planned on being fixed for the next patch. Also, is there a timeframe for the release of the next patch. I suspect that many members of the forum and lurkers have read about the various bugs and may be relieved to see some or even all of them are going to be corrected.

'Sometimes, battles stop being resolved once both sides reach demoralized - i.e., neither side suffers any morale loss, though both will continue to take losses (though very few only - often only 10-20 men or less in a month). I've seen battles drag on for years this way - the only way to end them is to flee.'

or you can march in an extra force which will get the battle going again

and '11) Malta If you have an army on Malta, it is impossible to click on the island.'

if you go to another display that doesn't show armies you can select the island. this is a problem on some of the small caribbean islands too

yes i find this too. the longer you leave the game running the more likely it is to crash. after a few hours also it slows down alot - it starts continually reading/writing to disk for some reason, which it doesn't do for the first few hours. this slows down the mouse, making it jerky and frustrating to use

if you leave it on pause or minimised for too long it will crash as soon as you open it again

if you start it up fresh but then open other programs to do something else it will usually crash when you re-open it

also, towards the end of a campaign game when there's a lot of data it is likely to crash earlier. i have 64M

Some questions and enhancements
-
I wondering if the scenarios are still balanced when the battle impacts on artillery and cavalry am changed (ver 1.05b). The scenario “nordiska kriget” start with a Swedish outnumbered with a strong bunch of enemies trying to grab as much they can. The Swedes are compensated with a higher development rate of its land military, but is that enough now?
- I would also like to have an online reference in the game the manual is quite nice to read as a “novel” but almost useless as a reference. Another reason is that with a lot of different version of the game, the printed manual will soon become outdated. An online reference would solve that problem.
- Is would be possible to naming the military forces both armies and navies, by your own, would make the main campaign a lot easier.
- I would like to have the possibility to merge different armies into one when I have them in a hostile region. Now if I move a group of armies into another hostile region they will arrive at different time and a battle can be lost due to that.
- A scenario editor where it is possible to make custom scenarios, a game with this feature is the operational art of war with hundreds of scenarios to download (www.thegamers.net), and the possibility to make your own scenarios.
