Wow! The Allies against the Axis and Comintern at the same time?

Sounds like Patton and Montgomery aren't going to stop at the Elbe, or the Volga for any matter.

I've played further, unfortunately there seems to be an issue with the event which drops your really crappy tech teams and give you slightly less crappy ones: Apparantly, instead of getting around 20 or so, I only get like 6 or 7* (the event seems to not include them when it jumped ingame, but the tech teams are in the event when I check manually in the file. I'm trying to find out why this happened, unfortunately not so good with those ID-stuff and all.. seems to be some incompatibility regarding AoD and CCIP I guess..) -> update as soon as I figured it out. Any other player had the experience with this (The event that replaces your tech teams, once China is fully unified by the Republic, when playing CCIP on AoD) as I won't get time till the weekend to try out further, any help with it would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

* I continued playing for around 1 month or so after it, only realising I've now less tech teams then slots when the next research was done.

One way to overcome that is to simply edit the save file to include the tech teams.

I will eventually have to do this. I was just wondering if maybe someone else (porkman?) had the same issue before, and knows a list of the "missing" IDs, as I have the feeling it will be quite tedious to find the right ones. I hope the techteams are somewhere, at least, otherwise might have to search for any "old" installation of CCIP and copy them over into AoD or anything like this.. not looking forward for that, as I'm rather bad with save game edits, never do otherwise. But I want to continue this game.. it really makes me anxious to kick some japanese a*s :D

If I had to guess, I would say that you're CCIP excel file with the Chinese tech teams was overwritten by a patch or else failed to go into AOD. The event ID List looks like this ccip.txt event 2468

The default tech team file only goes up to 1021 so this event will actually kill all but three of your tech teams if you don't have the right excel file. Your CCIP team_chi.csv file in db\tech\teams should go up to 1051.

You shouldn't have to do any save game edits, just copy the excel file and fire the event again manually. Another source of problems, though I doubt it, could be that all the tech teams have start dates of 1970. Armageddon doesn't care but AOD might.

Thanks a lot porkman, exactly what I was looking for, will try it out at the weekend when I get my hand at my computer again (and if successfull give the first CV your name.. it's time for those islands to fall to the Republic :) )

United China is Strong China

With countless trucks full of soldiers off towards Xibei San Ma, our expanding industry just as well brought good news. Rapid progress brought new possibilities, one of them the mass production, or assembly line. Soon, hundred of thousands of weapons for the fight for liberty will be produced within short time.

Fleeing over the border into Mongolia, the local warlord couldn't be hold responsible. What an idiot. Supported the Republic well for years, and when he was about the become a part of the Reunificated Republic, he choose to fight. Well. His people are now cheering as our troops are marching through the countryside. The most part is done, from the mountains of Afghanistan to the yellow sea, from the Manchurian forests to the beaches of Sanya, the Republic has won it's struggle.

86874847.jpg

With our economy in a strong shape, more and more "friendship" offers are arriving. It seems that the Allies and the Russians are both trying to send us presents - they're in a deadlock struggle, with no side able to win, and they know they key for victory will be us on their side - or in the Russian case not against them. We take all help we can get, we're still years behind. For the moment, we stay neutral.

With great victory parades all over the country, this spring sees the biggest celebration ever being hold in China for a long, long time. In Nanjing, the newly opened subway line #1, the first ever built in our country, links up downtown with the Memorial from Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, and many, many use it to honor the founder of the modern Republic.

81524535.jpg

Finally, the movement back to Nanjing is finished. Some suggested to move to Beijing, but that's clearly a Communist idea.

11460393.jpg

Also, plans are going ahead to massively enhance the ressources we're able to gain from our own country. We're already needing imports, and with the industry growing fast, imports will stay high.

61926036.jpg

After all the celebrations, back to Business. Indochina, our friends in the South, are under heavy attacks from the Japanese. When we're getting hold of their ambassador, his report isn't very good. He told us they thought they could manage to hold the line, but eventually asking for some volunteers.

70005414.jpg

Early July, as much as 56 divisions of volunteers are crossing the border. Equipped with outdated equipment, even some local soldiers are pity them. Well. Their experience in the past will make up for all the equipment disadvantages. We beat the Japanese once, we can do it again.

71215649.jpg

Our secret service is able to deliver us quite accurate informations. Seems they're not much ahead in research. Having to replace all their armies certainly didn't helped them, either.

Revenge time

In the 19th and early 20th century, the Nations of Europe and Japan took whatever they wanted from China. If they didn't got it, they sent their armies and took it by force. Now, they're all busy fighting. Our country is united and growing stronger. It's time to demand back whats rightfully ours.

Hong Kong and Macao to return to the motherland

Liuqiu islands, we come maybe 65 years late, but we're coming!

91989086.jpg

That will be a hard one.. with the Soviet-German peace.. but we shall get back what belongs to us.

Our country and what we still need to liberate

59877883.jpg

Back to the current war in Indochina, our rapid pace made it possible to ambush some japanese troops. Their equipment wasn't, surprising to us, superior at all.

26421487.jpg

The United States launched an invasion into Sibiria. Stalin, awakened 3 hours later, immediately ordered the T-34 tanks in. The Americans were crushed in a few days, back into the sea. Maybe next time they'll pick somewhere less hostile.

71694320.jpg

With the attack on Da Nang ongoing, the Japanese sent more troops and material. While slightly better equipped, they were still not using the best weapons available. Good for us, as it lowered the amount of men we had to replace.

94356205.jpg

We eventually won the heaviest battle which happened to us for years, and while we took the higher looses, it will hurt them much more. Slowly advancing through the jungle towards Saigon.

quaazi: I haven't seen Giap ingame (I guess he is) - this is Indochina, not Vietnam. If he's in, he has to be like a level 7 FM or something like that. At least super awesome.

I fel bad because I gav you useless tech team advice. You obviously figured this out already but it was news to me. I had the same nonfiring tech team thing going on. I validated the event, I checked the excel file repeatedly, and I even split the event and recombined it to make sure that the waketeam tag was on an event that firing. Unfortunately, I could fire the event but nothing happened. Apparently, all the techteams that a country has are stored in the save. The only time the game looks at the tech team file is when the scenario starts or a country is created. (This sort of makes sense for AOD where tech values change). What doesn't rally make sense is that the waketeam command only works if the techteam is already in the save, the tech team file plays absolutely no part in the event system.

Speaking of which, what are you researching?

Lovely, a chinese AAR.

but is this AAR dead?

Sorry for long time no updates.
Not dead at all. I'm currently in holidays, and internet is painfully slow. I've my notebook with me, so I've played quite a bit further. Some very "interesting" things will happen in the next updates.

Will be at a place with better internet tomorrow so hopefully can post some updates soon. (uploading pictures is simply impossible here)
I just hope that writting an AAR about the Republic isn't illegal in Nanjing ;)

porkman: No worries, your post did help me with figuring out the issues anyway, coming to the very same conclusion as you did yourself. Took some time to fix the save game, but it worked out. Worst thing was that some of the tech team IDs did change (I kept the "poor" teams till their current research was done, as it would be with a correct working event) from the "original" file I used compare to AoD file. (I mean those from xx00-xx20, not the improved ones)

But it worked out all fine, and since this issue, playing went very smooth. I hope to be able to post an update very soon.

Development and Winter War

The 24th September 1942 shall be remembered as an important day, even though not much actually happened. With the final specifications ready, our engineers now fully understand on how to build Aircraft carriers. Immediately, further improvements are put on the way, and the dockyards are preparing the material to build our own first fleet of those might weapons at sea.

55501217.jpg

Relations with the UK are now at an all-time low since the Republic was founded. The boarder between HK and the Republic has been closed for weeks now, with soldiers on both sides ready. Our gouvernment, however, has another plan rather than war. We can't fight the British, at least not yet. Our industry, for the first time ever since the 1840s, is now stronger than their British counterpart.

83309945.jpg

The 4th December brings great victory in Indochina. The last defenders of Saigon are encircled by a genius move from Chiang Kai-Shek and completely crushed. Within hours of the capitulation of the last japanese units, both the Soviet Union and the US sends further supplies. The US still hoping us to join their side of the war to beat the Nazis and Communists, the Russians to bribe us to keep neutral. With more factories getting ready and our researchers quickly catching up, we've all options open now. Clearly a great day for the Republic.

15444288.jpg

The Americans even hand us over a full airforce, to help our struggle against the Japanese. Not that our cities were in any danger, but it certainly helps further to keep the Red Japanese menace down.

45901965.jpg

Our industry keeps growing, and indeed, we're receiving many investments as the strongest country not at war on all the world.

83188102.jpg

Just a few months after we've finished the first technical specifications of an aircraft carrier, the first improved versions are put into production. It's a small step, but with further investments, we will be able to match the Japanese navy one day.

In Europe, the situation changed quickly. Using North Africa as a jumping point, the Americans have landed their finest men into Portugal and pushing hard through Spain, encircling Madrid where Franco and his elite forces are holding out. The Germans have sent some of their best Panzer into Spain, but transport is slow and total air superiority of the allies further slows them down.

[IMG]http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9373/43398451.jpg

Portugal is history, and Macao is now officially a franchise of Las Vegas.

21891305.jpg

The Spanish troops held of successfully in Madrid in some of the hardest fightings ever seen, and eventually more and more German Wehrmacht divisions are putting pressure on the inexperienced American troops, forcing them to retreat and even manage to encircle some of them. The Allied invasion of Europe is heavily blowed with the situation slowly but steadily turning.

If you're already losing a war.. don't start another one

13th May 1943, our research capacity is now running on full power, for the first time ever. With still many fields to catch up, we're already on a steady pace of success in many fields. Not long, and we won't have to use quantity to win wars anymore.

23857506.jpg

The marine department reports: The Republican fleet is under development, with 6 carriers under production and quite some supporting vessels underway as well. While we're still lacking some naval strategies, this will help us to improve our chances of beating back.

23465784.jpg

Half a year after the rapid American invasion into Iberia, the Axis has striken back, crushing the Americans towards the South. On the other hand, they've managed to free Gibraltar and thus the Med is now closed for good. This cuts support for Italian warfare quite a bit. Not that the allies hadn't already enjoying clear superiority on the high sea.

29464484.jpg

The US, understanding what the Communists in Japan did recently, are finally acting and putting an oil embargo on them. And sending us further support. Good Americans. I start to like them.

39395445.jpg

The Spanish front is rather fluid. Having success in the South against the Americans, another invasion in Valencia and a breakthrough towards La Coruna is keeping the Spaniards busy.

67037730.jpg

And then.. the first ships of the navy are ready for action. Setting their engines under power for their first encounter of the CJN.

96199021.jpg

With our infantry getting more advanced weapons then ever, a rapid modernisation of the army is given the green light. We won't fighting some small Japanese armies soon..

85945863.jpg

9th December 1943, Japan decided to go for an all-out war. Yes, great idea. Will help us to get to their islands dry feet, with the Americans sinking their carriers for a bridge over the yellow sea.

This world surely is chaotic.

Also, I love how stupid the Japanese are.

Japan goes wild

Everyone in the world has expected the combined navies of the US, Britain, Free France and Australia to crush the Japanese fleet within weeks. But instead it were the Japanese Zeros that bombed the shit out of the Allied troops in this region. We fought the Japanese now for almost an decade (with a short break) so we knew what they had to expect, and were slightly surprised how bad they actually were beaten by the Japanese Red Navy.

Korea, our strongest ally so far, joins our fight against Japan by declaring war on them as well. Good move.

80150947.jpg

Japan counters with a massive invasion of Siam, and their king quickly switches sides, fearing his people to suffer more then if he would have resisted them. Well. He was wrong, and this will surely be the end of his reign.

43921192.jpg

Chinese troops supported by Indochina forces are making their way through Northern Thailand as well as towards Saigon yet again, with the Japanese successfully landing in the Phillippines as well as driving the British troops slowly but steadily towards Singapore in just a month.

76096052.jpg

On Chinese new year 1944, the first three carriers of new Chinese navy are ready for operation, their first task will be some try-outs of this deadly weapon.

62285255.jpg

On the 30th February ;) our fleet has finished training and is heading for Guangzhou, to pick up our transport fleet who was hiding in the waters there for years.

85478280.jpg

Then Northwards again, to pick up the invasion army who was secretly trained in Hangzhou. Now we're ready to bring the war to our enemy.

96043296.jpg

The Japanese navy is surprised when it runs into our taskforce and quickly retreats. However, we know they were just on a transfer missions towards Manila, so this wasn't all what we've seen from them.

10819638.jpg

Okinawa is awakened by our finest troops making landfall, our radiomen immediately realize they're calling for help from their homelands. Not long could our liberation go on smoothly, as soon the first torpedobombers make their way against our fleet.

15667140.jpg

Lacking some good tactics, we're taking heavy casualties, but learning an important lesson. We'll be back for sure. And luckily, while many of our ships took heavy damage, not a single vessel was sunk.

72278312.jpg

Shouldn't one of those carriers be called the Zhurou Ren? 豬肉人 :)

Visiting Japan at Home

With the recent first experiences at sea, new doctrines are developed to give our navy a better chance of surviving the battles.

41622966.jpg

And just a month later, our fleet is on their way to surprise the Japanese at their very homelands, while their navy is busy battling the British around Singapore. The "Porkman" leading our squadron towards Tokyo.

48059553.jpg

Unfortunately, our expedition reveals that the Japanese beaches are well guarded and an invasion is yet impossible. But the fear in the Japanese eyes when our cruisers shelling their coastal cities was worth the visit. It's revenge time.

80344863.jpg

Marcus Island is visited

40155385.jpg

And so is Saipan

41875498.jpg

Victory assured, slowly but steadily we're overtaking the Japanese pacific islands.

44417878.jpg

At the same time in Siam, our troops together with troops from Indochina are pushing towards Bangkok. With the highest elan seen from our commanders, Soi after Soi is taken. With Bangkok fell, the way to the South is free, and soon their King is signing the capitulation. Siam will eventually become a part of greater Indochina, but this will take a while. The Thai did put up a good fight, and most of them are seeing us as liberators from the Japanese brute.

77634324.jpg

The Japanese had a short-living success in South-East asia and are now pushed back.

36449804.jpg

On the Malay peninsula, the Japanese troops had managed to reach and attack Singapore, but the Lions city defenders hold strong till liberation came in form of the Chinese army.

48485286.jpg

porkman: It's called after you ;)

I'm not sure when I can post the next update, still rather busy with travel but might get the chance for some updates eventually.

Thanks everyone for your support by reading the AAR, and Merry Christmas!
