too many bugs!!!

This game has been a huge pain. It seems like a great game, if I could only play it. I've had the game for 3 days now. All I've been doing is updating drivers and trying directX updates. I've tried XP compatability mode(i'm running vista). I tried deleting the settings file, same problems. Paradox should have worked these bugs out before releasing this game. Worst $50 I've ever spent. :mad:
 
Have you tried to run it in windowed mode?

Works for me, but otherwise you are right in fullscreen its a pain in the a** !

To do it, change in settings.txt, the line fullScreen from yes to no. Should be an improvement (well at least it stops chrasing all the time just because you clicked something).

My pc won't let me save the settings after making the change. Any suggestion?
 
So... what exactly is the bug(s) you are running into? You do realise that no one can help you unless you tell us the problem, right?

But sounds like you can get the game to load. Do you happen to have a big/wide screen monitor? Try changing the resolutions under setting to match your desktop resolution.

Right click on the file go to properties, and un-tick the read-only field.
 
The game loads fine. Sometimes it will crash at the main menu. It has crashed when I change the starting year. It let me start a game a few times, but then it will crash when I pause and unpause. Other times it crashed when I wasn't even clicking anything. I have a 16 inch screen. The resolution matches the desktop resolution(1024 x 768).

If running in windowed mode still doesn't solve it for you, have you installed vista patches, SP1, graphics card drivers, and the newer version of directx 9.0c (of which there are several)?

Then post you dxdiag.txt.

By the way. I like the quote about the 2008 olympics. How could the olympic committee give it to China? :confused:
