Pdx-Unlimiter

The Pdx-Unlimiter is a tool that provides a powerful savegame manager to quickly organize and play all of your savegames with ease. Furthermore, it also comes with an Ironman converter, a powerful savegame editor and navigator, some savescumming tools, integrations for various other great community-made tools.

The core component is the savegame manager, in which you can organize all the savegames from your different playthroughs.
From within the savegame manager, you can do loads of different things with your savegames:
  • Organize them into different campaigns and give them custom names to easily recognize them
  • Launch any of them directly (equivalent to using the Continue Game functionality) while automatically enabling the required mods and dlcs
  • Make savegame checkpoints of your currently played campaign, that can be thought of as backup copies, while your game is running and optionally revert to them if necessary, using keyboard shortcuts while being in-game. (i.e. savescum)
  • Convert them into a equivalent and playable Non-Ironman savegame using Rakaly
  • Edit them freely using the built-in editor
  • Add notes/reminders to savegames that will pop up when you launch the savegame the next time
  • Use them with other great community-made tools like CK3toEU4 or Irony

Why should I use this?

If you are an experienced player, you probably have encountered the following situations:
  • Playing multiple campaigns interleaved and losing the overview over where exactly you left of
  • Making many different checkpoint saves like *_backup_backup.ck3 that you can revert back to in case anything goes wrong and ruins your campaign
  • Wanting to easily edit a savegame to toy around or experiment because console commands are only limited in their power
  • Using one or more third party tools like an Ironman converter or savegame converters to continue your savegame in another game
  • Organizing and cleaning your existing savegame collection quickly
  • Waiting to load for the main menu to load because you can't use the Continue Game button in the launcher for Ironman savegames
For every item of the list above, the Pdx-Unlimiter comes with a corresponding solution.
You can find detailed information about that in the User Guide.

As a result, if nothing of the things listed above applies to you,
then the Pdx-Unlimiter is not really useful to you!

Is this a replacement for the Paradox Launcher?

No, since it does not provide a user interface for enabling/disabling/installing
mods or connecting your Paradox account.

Can I use this in combination with other launchers?

If you are using some third party mod manager like [Irony](https://bcssov.github.io/IronyModManager/),
you can still use the Pdx-Unlimiter as it does not interfere with managing mods.

Love the save scum feature (hey, sometimes I misclick!). How many saves does it keep handy? Is it like the 5 most recent auto saves?
It stores any savegame that you deem worthy of keeping as a backup checkpoint to revert to, if you accidentally misclick. You can create these checkpoint saves while being in-game with one keyboard shortcut.

I tried using the de-ironman feature after my game stuck me in a war that can never end, but it did not work at all, before even attempting to edit that war out. CK3 calls the save game unrecognized, and if I launch it from Unlimiter all the provinces are "uncolonized" with no titles, holders, or holdings.

Yes, I am aware that some CK3 savegames are currently not recognized after being converted. The Pdx-Unlimiter uses the Rakaly melter to convert savegames to Non-Ironman and it is not perfect yet in handling CK3 savegames, mostly because the CK3 Ironman format is a mess.

I hope that the Rakaly dev will release a fix soon so that I can include it in the next Pdx-Unlimiter release.

You can also send me the original savegame, so I can take a look and maybe forward it to the Rakaly dev.

Quick question on this - is there a way to change the game rules?
I tried editing the game rules file myself without using this tool and it seems to not have stuck (I changed scandi adventurers from occasional to off but they still attack).

Yes, you can easily edit them. Note that there are two identical game_rules entries in a savegame, so you probably changed the wrong one.
You want to edit the game_rules in the gamestate file:

But NOT in the meta_data part. These are only the game rule settings that are shown in the main menu and do not apply to the actual game:

Is it possible to edit the dynasty Cost of Arms with this?
Yes it is, although I realized that in the current release the process of navigating to the dynasty coat of arms data is a little bit messed up. I am currently working on pushing a new release in the coming days that will include a fix for this.

Hi, is it possible to clear character history for CK3 savegame? I'm trying to increase late game performance.
Playing a mod and started in 600, since reached 800+ I have severe speed performance. Game works well other than the time passes slow.
I tried population control (which helps significantly) however, I strongly believe that the fact that the save file is so big is a significant problem too.
I was exploring: either delete the history, or if there was a tool to create a mod to make my savegame file a starting point of a new campaign (subsequently clearing the entire map's history).

Sorry for answering so late, I have been busy.

In theory you can delete the entire character history for a save game, but I would be surprised if that wouldn't break anything. I encountered multiple situations in which a mod would blow up the campaign size not just through character count but also through event count and other stuff. In that case the best option is to hope for the author to fix the issue or don't use the mod if you don't have a beefy computer.

is there any way to revive a character?
or to cancel the death event with no savesiles befour the death event?
im trying to revive character id 18570
first_name="Tsramla"

any help will be appreciated.
