Hey everyone,

I had an idea for a unit if the industrious culture is ever reworked (potentially for one of the sub cultures then):

A Battlefield Engineer type of support unit that could spawn a combat tower. Tower is not to be taken as a literal tower but rather in the in game term of a stationary, auto firing entity. Could be a ballista or anything else.

Such a tower spawn would fit very well with the defensive/semi-stationary type of combat industrious is made for.

To further enhance this this Engineer could also buff towers as long as he is adjacent to them, again adding to the stationary combat style.

What you think?

As an add-on idea to this:

I have been missing overwatch (like it was in Planetfall) and this could also be a possible sub-culture of industrious.
Would again fit their defensive and stationary combat style and also fits crossbows way more than it does fit bows (anybody who ever did archery knows why).

The basic Arbalest unit could have a simple overwatch - it just ends its turn and can then shoot at the first enemy in sight as usual.
And their version of a Combat Engineer would carry a heavy crossbow which is not really suited for mobile warfare (only has a full round shot that is rather weak) but could entrench himself. This would also put him into overwatch, give defensive advantages against ranged attacks and allow the crossbow to unleash its full power. But also make him immobile and vunerable to melee attacks.
