I had a monopoly in the Chinese cot of Tianin. But I was too cocky. When I tried to push the competing traders out, the Chinese denied trade to me. I desperately need that extra income, so what can I do now? (... no, I will not reload...)
-Do they allow trade again after a certain time-span?
-Does bribing ('Staatsgeschenk') help?
- Or will I be denied trade forever? :(

Let them taste their own medicine. Take Tianin from them and deny them trade ;)

As far as I remember, trade refusal is left after a war.
So, declare war to China to force them to accept your traders.

I can't confirm if it's needed to win to be allowed again to trade (forgot).

Hmm, declaring war is easy. But I will have to bribe them into a peace treaty then. :)

But on the other hand:

Does the AI never revoke a denial of trade on it´s own initiative? Doesn´t improving the relations have any effects? :(

Don't know about improved relations as a means to achieve a lift of a trade ban.
I have witnessed trade bans being lifted after some years, without a war though. Don't know what triggers it, just a timespan, or other variables as well?

Hurra, I´m in the China business again! :)

I tried the 'let´s be pals-method': Improved relations to max. They immediately asked me for an alliance. Agreed. Only one month later they lifted the ban :)
Now the only question remaining: Would this have happened, too, if I hadn´t chosen to improve relations?

Don't think so. At least Spain didnn't seem very interested to lift it, even after several months.

Well, I just conquered their COT (Andalusia) because it is also their wharf. Problem solved, I deny now their trade..and they have a permanent reason for war against me anyway, so another reason doesn't really hurt, especially as I have also a military alliance with the Incas..
