Anybody ever been in a real good trade war...or spent alot of effort ruining others monopolies? I've only been involved in 1 trade war really...I was the netherlands and I beat France easily....but just wondering if anyone pays attention to economy that much.
In one game as Russia I joined a war against Spain using the excuse that they ruined my monopoly in Venice. Of course, I was after more than just trade.
Originally posted by metroncho Yes, i have been in many trade wars, usually in foreign Cots. In mines i have a tendency to press the embargo country button
A tactic usually works is to act combined with a second allied country you have a TA with. You can clean a CoT real quick.
Hehehe, yes, the Danish Russian Trade Federation versus the English Spanish Oligopoly .
They showed some resistance in Europe , but there was no chance for them overseas.

The Batlic Trade Empire itself was never significantly harmed at all, but we did have to fight really hard to keep Tago/Genoa, etc. Things would have become much better as we had France and the Ottoman Empire join our trading realm in the end as well.
