I never understand why the colony were burning (alone) after having more than 700 people in it. If someone can explain it to me !

Don't know about lvl 6 tps, I've never bothered to put them past a lvl 1.

The colony burning is some kind of bug. I've only noticed that it happened once, after sending the sixth colonist to Goa & it became a city with the native population. Annoying, but not as pesky as some of the others.

In Siberia, you must have an adjacent settlement. In the american, african, and southern asian interior, you must have an adjoining city (700+ pop.) The Great Lakes count as coastal provinces. And Australia/Oceania doesn't have any non-coastal provinces so the point is moot.

so, going back to the main question of the thread...

how much more trade value get a lvl 2 tp? and a lvl 6 one?

I Portugal owns some lvl3 and lvl4 tp in Africa at the begining and the IA builds many lvl3 and lvl4 tp playing as Portugal and Holland so i guess there must be an economic improvement or the programmers will not "teach" the IA to play this way.

I understand a bunch of lvl1 tp surronding a colony triggers the placement of a new CoT. It is a very nice tactic in Siberia playing Rusia, because you can force the creation of a 500d CoT in a gold province that only you know about it so you can get 100% of the CoT value until someone sacks Moscow or steal yours maps (i don't care to build a fleet with Rusia so the danger of lose a naval battle is zero).

My question is, after completelly fullfill Siberia and Kamtchaka with tp's (and 3 cities in the 3 gold provinces), how much will increase the value of the CoT here with lvl6 tps? is it a linear increment? an exponential one? also, how influence the presence of natives in the trade value of the provinces? i ask this last because, "for security reasons" i extermine the entire Siberian and Kamtchakian native population so my armies can travel without the danger of beign surprisedly attacked and the tp are not burned down by natives when the war exaustion start to be high. In the behalf of russians Czars, there are no more than 1000 natives in each province, with an average population of 500, and the exception of two mountain areas (2k and 3k iirc) so compared with the high populated areas of China and taking into account the hars climate i think it is a must to kill all those poor natives.
 
TP income

The TP income calculation (derived from Huszics FAQ and some additional research is):

market value x population modifier

The population modifer is:
L1 TP = 0.5
L2 = 0.6
L3 = 0.7
L4 = 0.8
L5 = 0.9
L6 = 1.0

Mind you, this income goes to a CoT where ones traders have to extract the money as trading income.

Example:

Ivory with a 17.74 market price. A level 2 TP will deliver 10.6D to that province's CoT a year. A level 6 TP will deliver 17.7 to the CoT. I think the computer rounds to 1 decimal position. The CoT display drops fractions.

You will also get some toll income. It might be 1 or 2D a year.

Huszics FAQ has some very good basic information on this. I have a "beta" diagram explaining some economic stuff here. There is a couple of inaccuracies to be fixed, and it needs to be reorganized as it is too busy.

If it's a valuable good and u are xure to be able to protect them (a burned down level 6 TP is such a waste) and u have nothing else u wanan colonise. Then it *might* be useful. I don't particularly see the use of it. Just build soem cities with those settlers. A city gets u more trade than a level 6 tp and tax income to boot.
 
Depends what country I'm playing. When Portugal or Holland I end up having a lot of TPs. And then slowly replace key places with cities. Also depends whether the province would make a good city.
