Information

I have disabled all mods

Yes

Required

Summary

Trains are not exiting the map, but since they keep spawning, they end up filling all the tracks.

Expected Result

Trains should normally despawn by exiting the map at the borders.

Actual Result

My whole train track is stuck, filled with trains. The exports are not working, so my industries are failing, which makes commercial zones fail too. In the end, the whole city collaps.

Steps to reproduce

I created a train station and a cargo station. I connected the train tracks with the one originally presents on the map. I waited some time.

Platform

Steam

Game Version

2023.9

Optional

Description

I built a cargo station and a normal station, all seemed to work fine. Then I saw train stucks. I waited, relaunched the game, made some tests. I deleted the train tracks to "delete" the stuck train, then rebuilt the tracks and all happened again. Then I checked what happens out of city limits. See screenshots. The trains are not "exiting the map", so they are all stuck there, spawning infinitely, but never exiting. In the screenshots, owned tiles are on the left, not owned tiles on the right.

Further tests:
1) if I despawn the traffic using https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1637663252 this mod, for a while things are fixed, but then it happens again.
2) if I restart the game without mods, I get the error message you can see in the screenshots. No way to load the game, if I click on the pop-up, it reappears. I can only close the game by closing it in Task Manager from Windows.
3) map is a custom one, this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1903141654 I wrote to the creator, asking for info. For now, no other user is experiencing the issue.

DLC:
After Dark
Campus
Concerts
Green cities
Paklife
Industries
Snowfall
Mass Transit
Plazas and Promenade
Sunset Harbor

CCP:
High-tech Buildings
Pearls from the East

UPDATE:
I did some more tests. Apparently, are people-trains those not exiting, not cargo ones.

Update: I've deleted the passenger train station and now the infinite stuck flow is not happening. Of course this is not exactly a solution, since I'd NEED the train station ^^'

Can you explain to me why? I mean, the tracks are separated, only joint in 2 point (an in and an out) in case of necessity). Usually all your tracks are connected in real life. Why here it's a problem?
However, I tried what you told me (only inside my city, outside the 2 tracks are connected) and the problem got fixed. Why?

Well, tracks have a limit. Since this is a game, it will have game mechanics to add realism.

Well, the outside connections off the edge of the map, there is an invisible train station. This station acts the same as the train station inside your city. Well, since you have to send all trains to this one station for imports and exports and passengers, then then that one station can clog up rather quickly. The more train stations you have, the sooner it clogs up.

So if you make two separated tracks, one local and one outside connection, then you can theoretically cut the traffic in half. Keep local traffic moving stuff inside your city, then another moving them in and out of the city.

Road traffic does something similar too. For example, a single lane backup on the streets that cars won't go around and they continue backing up in one lane only, until you fix the intersection at the front. This way, your other traffic can go around the backup and not choke your whole city.

Ships and airplane have limits as well.

But I had only connect my people train to the outside, for letting tourists using it. I have no internal line, other than main rail connected to outside and coming in 1 station. So how can I keep it separate from outside, if the thing I need is the connection with the outside?
I don't think I've understood what you said :-/

Can't you just put the train station back in and let it run a while and see if it starts happening again.?

Then maybe you will see some patterns that start showing up to help you more understand what is/was happening?

But it sounds like things are working fine.

FYI, you can purge old saved games or even move them out into another folder for safe keeping, and keep your game's saved game folder relatively clean.

Copy and paste this link into file explorer for your saved games folder:
