Fix Found?

I believe I have found a sound fix for this tram. I tested this fix very shortly 5min and I believe the issue is resolved. Hopefully you guys can test it as well to see if my fix does work.

Solution is simple you need the GS file Viewer -> Open vehiclepack03.gs -> Expand vehiclepack03.gs -> Expand Tram01 -> Select, right click and press edit on tram10.script. (Notice notepad will start for PC users)Go to where you will see: is.turning = 1.4; change it to 0.9;

Close notepad (Notice Notepad will prompt "Do you want to save changes" select yes)
Save to new GS File keep the same naming convention and replace this file where your game is installed depending on supplier.

(Advice don't delete the old vehiclepack03.gs rename it to: vehiclepack03Old01.gs Create new 1 or 2 folders here and drag the file there and also rename the folder to: "Original", "Modified") Notice: admin right are needed for these steps

I believe script "tram10" is only needed to be changed as you may have notice Tram01 from the vehiclepack03.gs has 3 script (tram10,b,c) which: "is.turning = 1.4;"

If this solves the turn problem I'm surprised that the developer didn't think about this sooner... as a few trams and metro have a very ugly turning animation and off topic the capacity issue.

Nevertheless it's a great game which can become even greater with care so probs for the developer for even creating this game to begin with. Hoping and wishing his game will become the SimCity 4 replacer in the long run with more add-ons.

Hope this helps and let me know if it worked for you as well.

I'm having this problem repeatedly in several places on the Berlin map. I can move the tram to the depot and then put it out again, but it's very annoying and it can be quite some time from when the tram gets stuck and when I notice it, resulting in huge traffic jams. Seeing as how the bug was apparently reported over a month ago (or maybe even 3 months ago), and the "fix" is not a patch but some special file editing that the player has to do (which I assume works, though I haven't tried it), I wanted to know if we could get an update from the developers on whether the core problem will be fixed in a patch and when. Thanks!

If you need, I can supply a savegame for reproduction. I just need some time to play and create a tram route having a 45° turn, and having the tram stop in the curve with the middle of the tram. Then the tram won't be able to start again. Like on the picture in the first post. I think he's tram had to stop because the traffic stopped by the pedestrian crossing, and the traffic has gone but tram stuck.

It happens to me frequently with the Vagabondo Satellite, usually after I speed the game up and look away from the area for a while (only to come back and see all my trams on that track stuck behind one Satellite). The other trams I tried seemed okay. It may just be coincidence, but the two places it happened to me were both four-lane roads (two lanes each way) with the tram getting stuck just as the road curves 45 degrees to the right (from the perspective of the tram). They never got stuck on the other side of the road, where it of course makes a 45 degree turn to the left. In one instance the curve is right before an intersection that the tram is to turn right on, but that's not the case for the other instance.

This was on the Berlin campaign map. I can provide saved game files if needed. One of the trouble spots I found was a couple blocks north-northwest of the eastern railway terminal, just north of a police station. The other was north of Brandenburg gate, next to the City Hall building.

Thank you so much for the offer, but since the issue was so well described here we will be able to fix it without a save game :) Thanks again though, we are so lucky to have such an active community for Cities in Motion!

I think this is the minimum. We should help the dev's make the game better and better if we can help easily. And at this moment the description was enough.
