Treaty of Tordesillas Date?

My encyclopedia says the treaty of tordesillas was signed in 1494, but in IGC it occurs early 1492 (in GC much later 1497-8?) can anyone explain the discrepancy.

By the way great scenario, and some fantastic toolmakers out there too (scenario generator,leader generator,etc)

To me it seems as if the ToT never occurs on the same date, I think it depends on when Spain discovers the Americas.

The first colony not by Spain of Portugal triggers it. U can make it not happen though by making Spain protestant for example or annexing Portugal very soon.

I had a game where ToT occured about the 1520s or so, and Spain annexed the Aztecs in 1580. However, they did annex a bunch of minors and got involved in a ton of BB wars, so that might explain it. (I was Russia btw, never seen an AI country w/ 31 bb before )
