1. Unit Icons:

A complete, simplistic set of unit icons, based mostly on the games counters that use war map symbology. This is perfect for those who liked the uniform set of Hearts of Iron 2, or simply prefer a more uniform set of models. All of them correspond to the technology of the time.

Here are some examples below:

Installation:

1. Find the models folder (located in Mods > Darkest Hour Full > GFX > Interface), copy it and save it in a safe place.

3. Delete the models folder.

3. Extract the files into the main Darkest Hour directory. This should put them in the correct place.

2. Counters:

A change to the counters that add the symbols of the unit icons . Overall, the counters now show much clearer information, for example: the counter for battleships now includes it's in-game abbreviation (BB), Air units are given more defined images and armoured units are distinguished between their light and medium versions.

Here's an Image of the strip below:

Installation:

1. Find the darkest hour hoi_counter_strip file in Mods > Darkest Hour Full > gfx > map and put it in a safe place.

2. Extract the files into the main Darkest Hour directory. This should put the files in the right place.

New Update:
  • The counters are put back in their original form, with the symbol on top and the flag at the bottom. This way you can get the military info you need without any other changes.
  • Download fixed for the unit icons.
Potential future:

For my own personal use I may make more icons for use in the New World Order 2 mod (if it's still being worked on). Of course, whether it's in demand or not, I'll release it.

Creating them.

You can make any adjustments you like within each assigned square and its components, but you have to use the same colours.

There's another file located in Darkest Hour > GFX > MAP, called hoi_counter_size, which manages where the other components go.

Not sure if that's a great description, but let me know how you get on

Links fixed. Now to get my stuff off of that pathetic photobucket.
