Ha ha! Thanks, great pic indeed. As a matter of fact, though, I've been doing these ill_provs which can be seen in the last pages on request (not adding them to the official TP), so I'll make one based on this pic as well if asked to.for you sepias:
[a beautiful view of Florence]
according to the pic title (which i always copy) its made in 1927 (September) by Hans Hildenbrand (whoever this was). - yeah and i decided to visit italy within the next 3 years at least. a shame i was only in Bozen (which is basically austria)
Yes, thank you very much for the offer - the items listed are still all valid, i.e. I'm still (more or less) looking for them.btw, Titan: the list of models in the first page: is this still the stuff you need? - i'm asking because i played a game with SKIF (i have to admit). now i cant see these icons anymore and would like to change again to your stuff - so if there are needed drawings etc let me know. - even if its only a small "correction".
well and if you spot an image in my package which you could use let me know, i should still have most source images.
Wow, very cool pic of a DB-3F/IL-4 long range bomber - I could well use it for a SOV background!well, i still have all source images of the ills i made, or at least most of them - i think. in bigger size http://s7.directupload.net/images/131216/wb2yzrvy.jpg
Great site!! Thank you, I didn't know it. Yes, I definitely prefer to have them in colour.for the USA and bigger images this website is good: http://historylink101.com/ww2_color/index.html (assuming you need colour images for the skins)
for SOV there is not much in original colour, but Za Rodinu is a good colourizer http://www.flickr.com/photos/36919288@N08/with/4410477712/ or http://englishrussia.com/2009/01/28/soviet-soldiers-at-world-war-2-in-color/
otherwise there is the red army victory parade https://www.google.de/search?q=red+...jcsgbVzYCIDA&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1600&bih=748
here is a good one of Zhukov (taken after 1st of June 1945, since he wears his third Hero of the Soviet Union)
Stalin (seems to be the same occasion)

for the UK you can search in the Imperial War Museum http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/search?query=world+war+2&submit=&items_per_page=10 (you can specify your search on the left: time frame, colour yes/no, etc)
Another ton of interesting pics out there, thank you! I'll scan them to see if I find some which can give me the right inspiration.
sorry no luck with the planes, AHF has a subforum for modelling and military art, it would be worth asking (this is how i "found" the kegushi - i posted it somewhere and received a PM over there).
Don't worry, I was aware it was a nigh impossible task - thanks anyway for taking the time to check.
On a second thought, however, I've realized I could make good use of a German Inf '43 model, as the current one - while not bad - displays a machine gunner just like the GER Inf models '41 & '45; so, I'd like to have it carrying e.g. a Kar 98, an MP 40 or whatever else just to "disrupt" the way too long MG series ;) .
The only problem is that I've already searched for it quite a bit but never managed to find a good one which was not a Waffen-SS one. While it surely would be difficult to spot that when converted to a 44x44 icon, I'd like the starting image to be a WH soldier...
Good hints, thank you, although in fact I still have some Osprey to check properly. Its quality is normally superior to the other publishers', so I'll first try to find something along those lines... err, pages.assuming that you have already looted everything from Osprey, maybe try another company, like Revell? https://www.google.de/search?q=reve...w=1600&bih=705#q=revell+2.+weltkrieg&tbm=isch
i mean you are basically searching for models or toys, so you need to know all the firms which produce these things. otherwise i found a few (probably not that good):

http://www.oldmodelkits.com/jpegs/Rev H2223 4 G Eng.JPG (that would be an example for Revell - worth following it?)
http://doc-0s-8g-3dwarehouse.google...1cd0dc199c79bd7f2?ts=1339813862000&ctyp=other (probably below your standards)

Now this is another good idea - by the way, well known people there, you say...? I wonder who might they ever beand re: colour: before i forget it (shameless self-advertising): http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=159097&start=255#p1775710
but the thread itself is definately a good one if you're searching for colour stuff. or http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97822 (you need to be a member to get the pics - you'll spot some people well known to you)
Are you sure?Download Links don't work tried both sites any other place?
Hmmm, are you really doing it right...?Titan79 - Yeait does not work for me. Once I get to the page on Rapidshare it just sits does nothing and then I try and refresh etc. and still nothing.
yea I open it on a different browser (FF) and left it for 5 min and then when I returned it finally displayed the file download/save file portion and it has now been D/L woohoo lol
Glad it worked and to know you like itThank you again Titan79, the pack is beautiful great job!
(On a Different not) in 1.08 (AoD) Italy seems to be much better in the axis alliance, however still not a huge help in the axis (Playing as Germany) I always have to help Italy lol guess that would be historically correct.
Glad it worked and to know you like it- thank you for the compliments!
As for Italy, having to help her as Germany is totally correct from a historical point of view... There was a joke among the German High Command which went more or less like so:
- "Italy has joined the war!"
- "Then we'll need 10 divisions to take care of that."
- "No, no - they did on our side!"
- "Ah, then we'll need 20 divisions."
