I'm thinking of a waving banner (as in 'keep the flag flying') or maybe Churchill's two-fingered 'V' salute - though scaling that down effectively might be a problem.
Maybe. I was rather inclined toward something more military-oriented, though...

Bullet is a great idea and easy to make!
...just like a bullet. But I'll still mull over that issue.

There we go. I think you have the Sagittario already, but it was there so I grabbed it anyway.

Thanks a lot! The middle one is what I needed. As for the Sagittario, thank you but, as you've correctly written, I've already done the icon from a former link of yours (and you can see the results of your very appreciated research here :) ).

EDIT:

I'd be very thankful to anyone who could help me finding some good color drawings for land units, this time. Note that the figure has to be full, please (as you can see in the screenshots in the very frst post of this thread).

I'd be especially interested in:

1) Japanese officers (for HQ icons)
2) Italian officers (for HQ icons)
3) Soviet paratroopers
4) Soviet mountaineers
5) German 1936 infantry

More could follow, but for now that would be enough. ;)

Oh, right, I forgot to specify it: yes, full body (for every icon I've listed). Also, I've added a 5th request a couple of minutes ago ;) .

Editing now the above post to avoid misunderstandings.

[Many images]

thats what i found in my japanese collection, maybe you can use.
Yes, thank you! To be honest, drawings (or photographs) with a bigger contrast between the actual figure and the background would be preferable since, when not so, it's a rather big amount of work to isolate the soldier from the surrounding part of the photograph.

Best of all would be drawings like the ones you recently provided me for Italian and Soviet infantry (a couple of posts ago) but these will do as well, if there are no other available.

Re: the bottom part of the figures - I like to see the full body displayed so yes, please no mutilated soldiers ;) .

Beautiful mod, thank you!
You're welcome, thank you for having tried it!

yes i thought that eg those models would be better, but you see i collect photos only and thats what i have in my collection. and i never needed legs for my leaderpics ;)

knew it when i saw it. just one info: i think eg a good TAG for google images is "soviet mountaineer model" (or german infantry model). i googled a lot, but this addition (model) made the difference.

i think you saw already, but heres a JAP officer http://www.ww2incolor.com/art/?g2_page=76 (although i think - just from the uniform - my last JAP image is more representative, but you know the technical details better).

Yes, that's the kind of stuff I need. And yes, I've tried adding "model" to the search and it works good!

Don't think I know the technical details about uniforms so well ;) . Your Japanese pic is surely better from a ranking point of view; the drawing, although displaying a lesser rank officer, has the advantage of being more easily adapted to an icon.
I guess I'll choose something in between not to displease anybody ;) .

a few german FJs (think thats complete, but well.. )

Thanks, but my German Fallschirmjäger set is already complete!

EDIT:

Updated Corrections.rar; grab it from the 1st post in this thread, as usual.

Changes made are related to some buttons (Victory or Walhalla, Naval stand ground and Naval kills) and many icons. By the way, huge thanks to bestmajor for the links provided, which let me find drawings from which to make those icons.

A couple of screens to let you see in advance what's new:

New Victory or Walhalla button (as well as new Scorched earth button, already done in a previous Corrections release).

New Naval stand ground and Naval kills buttons.

Some miscellaneous samples of the icons made from bestmajor's links.

Nice!

The only inconsistency would be the new Victory or Walhalla and new Naval stand ground buttons. Icons are not in-line with the rest of them which are more simple. For me the simple black bullet would suit the best Victory or Walhalla button.

Thanks! Heh, I know, but I based my new buttons on two considerations:

1) The former Naval stand ground button was already in color (as are many other buttons in the interface: offensive mode, prioritize etc.), so this doesn't "disrupt" the interface appearance too much;

2) Given point #1, I like the new VoW and Nsg buttons a lot better than the vanilla ones :) .

However, I could make a different VoW button with a bullet in it, as we were writing in the previous posts; one could then pick the one that suits him best. I don't know what to choose as a subject for Nsg, though - if you can provide a good starting image from which to make the button, I'll be happy to try!

Crikey, you're quick off the mark, Titan. Lovely stuff.
Thanks :) . Hope you'll enjoy playing with the new icons/buttons as I did when making them!

thanks, Titan

and good to see the ethiopians, was just hunting the missing italians for this war!

In that case all good then! ;)
