Not sure if this has been described before (couldn't find it on the exploits side of VickyWiki):

There is a gamey exploit useful for landing (large) armies on enemy shores even if naval technology does not allow confrontations with their navy.

Build, say, 50 transports. Board an army with 50 units. Send the 50 transports to the shores of your favorite enemy nation - say, GB. Expedite the transports (make sure though that there are no enemy ships currently in the same sea area) to GB. Declare war on GB and send the 50 transports into its port.

To the amazement of the locals, on the next day 50 units start occupying GB, just one step away from London. Take back your transport and occupy the rest of the island...

This exploit allows you to invest your research into other things than naval and still allows you to win wars against great naval nations.

Yes, that's true. Which means you need to be careful about BB. But it allows you to slip in a preventive war here and there before the enemy attacks you ;-).

There is a problem with this. It will take a few days, even more than a week, for your troops to land. When attacking the UK, that's too much time. They usually have hundreds of ships surrounding their island so the chance of your landing being rudely interrupted are very high.

There is an exploit where you load your troops onto an armada of transports, then lend those transports (Expeditionary Force) to a British ally. Dock those expeditionary transports anywhere (anywhere unoccupied) on the main British isle and declare war. But that's only if you don't consider exploits like this cheating.

yes - and that's exactly the exploit suggested ;-)

You can do that with nations you share a land border with. Send a load of troops to a country and walk them to the other nations capital. Start a war and it's a easy win. Did that with Greece VS OE.

It is cheating but its fun to do that to countries who are fighting a civil war and you can influence one side a lot. the South can win if Russia gives half of their army on loan.
