I saved my gaming session last night with 2 units loyal to my leader. I reloaded today, ready to continue my game, and noticed I have no units loyal to my leader now! The chain symbol is gone, and the work I did towards my mission is lost.

I'm running Europa Universalis Rome Gold with the 2.2 patch successfully installed.

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to comment on this. If not, could someone direct me to where I can post this?

The 2.2 patch fixes many other issues, including some CTDs, and makes the game run faster. The loyality issue is unpleasant but not gamebreaking, just that "get loyal troops" mission is a pain, one has to mod or delete it.

But is it possible to get decent civil wars without it?
I kind of assumed that without loyal units the rebels won't have any army, but maybe units without any loyalty just defect randomly?
I don't know how it works...

Looks like indifferent units go with their commander during a civil war, so if he starts it they go with him happily.

If it's any help in solving the bug, I had a general die while commanding some loyal troops, and the troops remained loyal (to either him, or his son, I forgot to check) even after I assigned a new commander. I think loyalty is lost only in transferring units or combining armies.
