Trouble exporting to EU 2

Ok I feel like a tool asking this question but I can't find it anywhere.

I have the latest patch of CK and EU 2.

I save my game of CK, and move it over to EU 2's saved files.

When I try to load the game in EU 2 it freezes up.

Anyway, I haven't actually completed a game, but i was under the impression you could export at any time and it would convert it to 1419. Do I need to wait until 1419 before I can export? Or is something else the problem?

Well, the exported file is a scenario, not a savegame. That may be it.
You can certainly export at any time, even in 1066.

I don't actually use the built-in exporter though: I use the improved one from this forum.

You should not move the CK save game over, but use the "Export" function in the Game Menu and then move the result of that into your EU2. CK save games have same format (eug) as EU2 save games, but obviously as the games have very different data in their save games, you cannot use CK save games directly in EU2.

Thanks I from what you guys said i figured out i was placing the exported file into the save games folder instead of the scenarios folder, it works fine now.

I don't actually use the built-in exporter though: I use the improved one from this forum.

The "improved" one is proving to be a bit complicated for me. Like how do I start it up?
