Hi. I have a pc running windows 7. I am trying to upgrade from 2.2 to 2.32 to escape repeated CTD's in 2.2. I have made a number of attempts to install the beta patch, but when I extract the files using 7zip, I get error messages stating that some of the files destined to go into the common folder are not copying. It appears that most of the files are being overwritten properly, but the checksum for the game is still 2.2. I have turned off the "read-only" designation for the folder, so it should overwrite properly. I can't figure out why some of the files just won't copy, when others do so with no problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Roadblock Crashes

I had the same problem with WinRAR. I'm using Windows Vista. Some of the files copy fine while others do not. Executable remains 2.2

I've gotten used to the crashes. I just restart where I left off. I've even figured out a quick way around the No_Culture crash so I can pick up where I left off there too. But when I hit the roadblock crash where there does not seem to be a No_Culture error it quickly becomes very irritating.

If I didn't love the game so much I wouldn't care, but I do so please get a fix out as quickly as possible. Even if it's the only fix in the patch. I have read somewhere that there is a fix for this in the beta and that's why I wanted to install it in the first place. Please officially release this as soon as humanly possible so that I can stop banging my head and my computer against the wall.

Have installed the game inside the programfiles?

if so, uninstall and install the games in a new folder, like C. games.

Thank you, that got the beta installed.

But now I have a new problem. I no longer have the rome launcher on my desktop. If I try to copy the icon and put it there, it fails to locate the game and crashes. The launcher works right if I open it within the C:games file, but not from on the desktop. Is this fixable?

Of course. Just edit the properties of the icon to point to the right file and directory (I am assuming you are making a desktop shortcut to the .exe, not copying or moving it).
