Trouble Installing DV Beta Patch

I'm having trouble installing the DV 2.1 Beta Patch. I downloaded the newest .rar file from the sticky and unzipped the files. When I try to run the Crusader.exe file I get an error that says it cannot find the excel file (paraphrase) and gives me options to "abort", "retry", or "ignore". All of these options return errors as well.

I can't seem to find instructions for correctly installing the patch and I was hoping someone would be kind enough to instruct me.

I'm not at home right now so I can't give you all of the information requested in the "read before posting" thread, but I'll give you as much information as I can.

I'm playing DV 2.0 (sorry, don't have publisher info with me)
I run WinXP
It's a Dell desktop that's about 5 years old (sorry, I know that's really vague)
256 mb of RAM (I believe, but definitely no less)
Several gbs of free disk space
DirectX v9.0

I just discovered/bought this game in the past week and I'm totally hooked. I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks!

You're not supposed to execute the file -- it is a replacement for the existing crusaders.exe file, not a self-installing patch.

You should unrar the rar archive on top of your CK-DV install, and overwrite all files it wants to.
