Trouble uninstalling/reinstalling the game.

The Paradox Interactive folder is empty.
After manually uninstalling HOI 2 and removing everything else I could find (shortcuts, etc) the only HOI files I now have are those I downloaded into the testgames folder I created for the download of Doomsday from GamersGate.

Is the Doomsday package truly a stand-alone program, or should HOI 2 be there in the background?
 
I am sorry i did not explain myself correctly.

On your start button, go to all programs (or just programs if you use the old style hierarchy)

look for Paradox interactive,

inside that folder look for HOI2 doomsday

inside that one should be the icon to start the game -- try that

Okay try this

somewhere in C:\testgames\.... there should be an HOI2.exe icon run the program from there

Okay i think i understand now what is going on

Do the following

1. Log onto Gamersgate
2. Click on the myGames link on top
3. Download Doomsday. Make the path c:\testgames
4. Wait till the download is done.
5. When the download is done, the gamersgate download tool should change and then an Install button should appear. Click on it.
6. It should then install Doomsday. If during the install process it asks for a path to install Doomsday in it choose c:\games\dd (so i know where it is)
7. Once the install is done you should have an icon on your desktop and one in your start menu -- click on either one to see if the game runs
8. If it runs -- find the patch i told you to download and run it.
9. During that install it should confirm with you that your game is installed at c:\games\..... If it doesnt point there make it point there.
10. Once the patch is installed -- double click on the desktop/start menu icon

Should work.

Oh, and this is pretty cool . . . I can no longer install my old HOI 2 from the CD-ROM. When I put that disk in it comes up with only the "uninstall" "play" and "exit" buttons active. The "install" button is grayed out.

Er, where exactly is this "uninstall sticky" to which I should refer?

I tried to update Armageddon and now can't uninstall Doomsday II at all! I get 'catastrophic error' when I try, just like some of your correspondents.

One of the "I wish I hadn't done that moments" from which we all suffer, I guess.
 
Okay, I've got some problems as well (Doomsday) and after following the sticky, I end up at this part:

InstallShield Installation Information' is marked as hidden so to be able to find it you have to change folder options on you PC to show hidden files (For instructions on this see the next post). Search for files containing 'Hearts' in this directory and you will find a file called 'Setup' with the following content:

Do I remove all the files or?
 
At great cost to my personal health, since I am not an expert, I went into REGEDIT and deleted whatever of DOOMSDAY I could find.

I still have the option on my PROGRAMS list, and the UNINSTALL option still won't flippin' uninstall!

Nice game, just rubbish patching procedures! :(
