I am using EU2 version 1.08 on Windows XP Home SP2 on a Fry's FM7740 Desktop with a P4 3.0 Ghz processor and 512Mb of RAM. I have 172 GB of free space and an Intel 82915G with driver version 6.14.10.4020 and 128Mb video memory. My sound card is a Realteck AC'97 Audio with driver version 5.10.0.5620. I have DirectX version 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904). Now that all that is over with, here's my problem.

I installed EU2 with no problems. A few days later I tried to install EU2 - Asian Chapters. During the install, several messages popped up about performing file operations on read-only files, with a prompt for yes or no. I choose yes on all of them, but when I tried to start EU2 - AC, it gave me an error that, and I apologize, I forgot. It would not start up. I tried to start regular EU2 which started up but appeared with several new scenarios. When I attempted to play those scenarios, the game crashed. I think the problem might be because they are installed to the same folder and use some of the same file names, but I installed them to the default folders. I think I have a workaround by installing them to different folders, but I wanted to know why this might have happened. Your assistance is most welcome.

I'm not sure we support Asian chapter here... You could check with Typhoon Games...

I was nder the impression that Asian chapter was a standalone game. From your description it seems you have installed both to the same location. Can you confirm from the Asian chapter documentation that that is as intended? If not you should definitely install them to separate locations.

No scenario installed with Asian chapter would work with regular EU2, as AC has made changes to the map that are not compatible with the standard EUs format.

They are really two seperate games.
One is more a licenced version designed for the Asian market.
They are not really meant to be on the same system at the same time.

Thank you. I purchased the six-pack of Paradox games and that was included. I did not know they were so different. I will install it to a seperate location.

Be aware there are some problems with AC, and that responcibility for support lies with Typhoon games.
