Truck mod Ver 1.0
This mod works on AoD 1.3
This mod changes your armored car brigade into a truck brigade, to attach to your infantry divisions. It increases the speed of those divisions close to motorized infantry speeds. It also makes the stats similar to motorized infantry. This is meant to simulate an increase in motorization.
Please backup your files before installing.(see below for file changes)

Start the game, and you'll notice the Armored car tech is no longer. In its place is the Transport Trucks tech.
First of all. I thought I'd release this little mod since I've been using for a while now and thought maybe somebody else would enjoy it.
If there is some part of this mod you dont like, change it. I just tried to balance it so you didn't have too.

Q.What does this Truck mod do to my game?
A.This mod changes your armored car brigade into a truck, to attach to your infantry divisions. It increases the speed of those divisions close to motorized infantry speeds. It also makes the stats similar to motorized.
Q.Why can't I put this on my tanks, mechanized, and motorized units?
A.Having those driving around with an additional four to five point speed increase becomes unbalaced. Also this mod is intended to increase your regular infantry speed without having to upgrade all your units to motorized infantry.
Q.Why can't I put this on my paratroopers,Marines, Militia or garrison?
A. Just open those files and remove the # in front of [ allowed_brigades = armored_car ].
Q.Why can't I put this on my mountaineers?
A. Mountaineers already get a speed bonus in mountains,hills, and are the only unit that doesn't get hit by the
-60% movement penalty in frozen terrain. So this unit would be the fastest unit in game in the winter.
Q. So whats the point of using this mod?
A. Mainly it is to give regular infantry a speed bonus so they can move more easily around the map like motorized units.
Q. So why would I use it?
A. Its meant to represent the general motorization of infantry units.
Some of the advantages I see are:
- Increased speed which is very useful.
- Can allow regular infantry to better keep up with armor.
- Upgrade existing infantry to something that resembles a motorized unit.
- Fuel becomes tight? just remove the brigade and your unit will be usefull again.
- Can swap brigade from one unit to another, after brigade redeployment.
- Stuff I haven't thought of yet.
Disadvantages
- Can't have any other brigade attached while using this, so it's close to the strength of a motorized unit without a brigade.
- Increased Fuel usage.
- Attributes penalties.
- Stuff I haven't thought of yet.
Q. I like to play major nations with many infantry units, This is to much micromanagement.
A. That a choice we all get to make.
Q. Does the AI know about this?
A. No, I did not modify the AI in anyway, so it will think it's still build Armored cars.
Q.How much of a speed increase and what cost?
A. There's four models, listed below is the advantages and disavantages.
# 0 - Basic
model = {
cost = 5
buildtime = 60
manpower = 2
maxspeed = 4
defensiveness = -9
toughness = -2

transportweight = 20

supplyconsumption = 0.175

}
# 1 - Improved

supplyconsumption = 0.325
fuelconsumption = 3.4

defaultorganisation = 0
softness = -20

transportweight = 20
supplyconsumption = 0.35
fuelconsumption = 3.4
upgrade_time_factor = 0.5
upgrade_cost_factor = 1.0
suppression = 0
}
# 3 - Future
model = {
cost = 6
buildtime = 70
manpower = 2
maxspeed = 6
defensiveness = -2

transportweight = 20
supplyconsumption = 0.35
fuelconsumption = 3.4
upgrade_time_factor = 0.5
upgrade_cost_factor = 1.0
suppression = 0
}
Q. How did you come up with those arbitrary numbers?
A. I compared the same year motorized infantry and regular infantry. Then made up the differences between the two models. Since I only have four AC models to play with, I played with the numbers.
Hope you enjoy my little mod.
