The game decided I'm no longer allowed to add or remove any guardians to my children and now they're growing up stupidly because I'm not there to beat some sense into them when they decide to be lazy, arrogant, and callous. I've reported the bug that's happening but all I want right now is to be able to be my kids' guardian again and I don't care if I have to cheat. I'm trying to use the console but I guess I'm doing it wrong; tried using the command add relation but neither "ward" nor "guardian" is apparently a recognized relation? Is there some other way to do this? What I need to do is remove the kid's current crappy guardian and replace it with myself.

If there's a mod that can do this that's fine too, but none of the "cheat menu" mods I saw appear to offer this exact function.

I’d save, then (while on pause!) switch characters (pin them & yourself first), add a (pinned) kid to that court, send a request to your usual player character to be their guardian, then switch back and accept the request. Rinse and repeat if it works. If you can’t accept the request, send the request to whomever you wish to be guardian for now. You’ll probably need to add the kids back to your court when they come of age, though, as they’ll be assigned to the wrong court. I’d keep them pinned to make it easier to keep track/get notifications.

Keep in mind you can use the console to remove the traits you don’t want and add the ones you would have chosen, so if all else fails, you aren’t doomed.

Yeah I might just remove the crap traits they get and add ones I personally have and pretend I influenced their personality... I was hoping to roll the dice the usual way for which traits were offered but this is getting so complicated :p
