Tunnel search not working?

What's the chance of a tunnel search (i.e. toilet search) uncovering a tunnel supposed to be? I suspected an escape in progress and conducted a tunnel/toilet search, which found nothing, then a minute later, prisoners popped out of tunnel originating from three toilets. After the prisoners escaped, then a second tunnel/toilet search found the origins... a bit late. This has happened a couple of times. Has the chance of a tunnel/toilet search being successful been lowered significantly? Has tunnel search broken completely (while tunnelling is in progress)?

No idea, but I have found this too... Wonder if it is worth doing sporadic roll calls through the night.

Good idea. Perhaps tunnel search been nerfed on purpose, to encourage other methods. Roll call seems to be better now at catching tunnellers in the act.
